PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Two run lead. Two innings to play. If the bullpen's ERA is 9.00 we are set up for a tie. If less, we should win. I'm holding my breath...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Willians is not good. Been a while since he contributed a whole lot
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Dear Turtle, MLB has figured you out. Stop swinging at stuff you cannot hit.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 For those who wants to trade for Stroman. He gave 6 runs in 5.2 innings against D-Backs. Cron's little brother hit a 3-run homer off him. Escobar had his 49th RBI and scored a run.
rickybeathard Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Willians is not good. I want him to be good so bad, but he looks totally lost tonight. Even more so than usual.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Yes. I know this will probably get me my first warning points, but I'm tired of the Astudillo thing. No competent pitcher will ever again throw him a strike and his average is headed down toward .200. He is not very good at any of the positions he plays, is very slow on the bases. Time for Cave, Arraez, or even Gordon to come up and get some ABs.I'm a mod... and I approve of this message.

70charger Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I've seen baseball in Detroit but it was in Tiger Stadium back then, so my info is out of date. I found the powder blue paint job in the outfield memorable in a not-good way. I went to old Tiger stadium too, way back in the day. That place was a cavern. Even the Detroit fans didn't seem to want to be there.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Willians is not good. He... seems challenged in his efforts to express his goodness. Like rickyb said, I very badly want him to be good.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Mitch Garver is a totally different catcher than he was 12 months ago.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Upon further consideration I will not make a comment about the possibility of Duffey getting a 6 out save.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I'm going to Comerica to see tomorrow and Sunday's games. It will be my 9th MLB stadium. Can't wait. Let me know if any of you all have been there and what you thought. I've been fortunate enough to get to all 30, including Comerica several times since it's nearby. For an early Father's Day, my sons are taking me to a DH in Toledo tomorrow evening and Comerica on Sunday. I'd call Comerica "solid." They were one of the first to start to add a lot of "fan-friendly" stuff, and I've likened walking up to the primary entrance (1st base side) as feeling like I'm walking up to a county fair. I've never taken the Ferris wheel, however. The statue of Ernie Harwell is a nice touch. I've sat in the right field seats (Kaline's Korner), center field seats, down the first base line, and above home plate. Not a bad seat among them, though remember that because of how big the outfield is, your outfield seats will be even farther from home than normal. Because the football field is next door, it seems like there's plenty of available (and reasonably cheap) parking nearby. Enjoy!

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Dear Duffy, You have work to do. I'm glad you had to face the bottom of Detroit's linup... but don't get overconfident.

MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 I honestly think Duffey has the stuff to be a good 7th inning guy. He just needs to work on not hanging those curves as much.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Dear Turtle, MLB has figured you out. Stop swinging at stuff you cannot hit. +1. PS Thanks, MLB commentators. For years you've overused the cliche about making adjustments being the key to success in the majors, and now that we've finally got a guy who needs to 'Break glass in case of adjustment emergency', nobody is paying attention any more.
