    Last year I had MLB.tv and was able to watch all of the games designated for TV broadcast. But I also live in Wisconsin, so I'm not sure if the black out applies to spring training games.

    Probably not worth reading too much into, but the way he was celebrating after coming out of the game... you'd get the sense that he knows that was his last game with SF.

    I am watching Rodon tonight just for fun. This guy is into the 7th inning tonight against the cubs, pitches a 90mph+ fast ball, and has double digit strikeouts.

    I'd be interested in any stats that suggest that Duran's effectiveness decreases after back to back games. I don't have anything to base this on, but I feel like Duran has played in back to back games a lot this year... and I wonder what type of impact that has had on him. I also think your spot on, regarding Gray... and really the only thing I can think of is that he has had some bad games this year. I don't think they trust any starter. But you have to take pressure off your bullpen at some point, and the best way to do that is allow your SPs to pitch later into the game.

    Given the state of the farm system, I just have to believe that the whole purpose of acquiring for Correa was to move him and trade for more prospects. The team over-performed the first half of the season, and now they probably have no idea what to do. Especially given Target Field has had decent crowds as of late. We may actually get double screwed, by a refusal to do anything and just nibble at the margins which will simultaneously make no impact this year and really hurt whatever our initial plan was with Correa and using him as a piece for prospects.

    I mean maybe technically, but I share youtube TV with like 3 different family members... and MLB.TV is a great option for people who don't live in MN or other black out states.

    The only reason I am still watching this game is to see if Sano strikes out again.

    Most Minnesotans aren't watching the game anyway because of the blackout and the fact that only boomers still have cable packages. No offense to boomers. Actually, I don't know why I felt compelled to attack boomers, my boomer parents don't have cable either... and it sure would be nice to be able to watch the Twins with my family who still live in MN.

    I also think that we need to be honest that Wes Johnson leaving mid season is really inexcusable, and I'm not saying that really falls on Wes either... But you need to have a fully committed coaching staff at the beginning of the season, and if you like your guys need to need to pay them to keep them. Again, there may be extenuating circumstances, but losing your pitching coach on a team that already had a house of cards pitching staff is really inexcusable and the organization really needs to take a long hard look at why/how that happened even if it was on relatively good terms.

    It brings me no pleasure in saying this but between this game, the disaster in Milwaukee, and the Twins record against teams with winning records, I'm increasingly convinced that we should maybe be sellers. Who we can sell, I don't really know... but it's starting to feel like we really have 0 pitching, Frankly our pitching across the board is starting to look worse than it did than even last year.

    I'm probably only posting this because I'm pissed off right now, but Cruz honestly comes off as obnoxious and unfocused in the mic'ed up videos that I've seen him in. He's mainly just berates Astudillo to an extent that wouldn't be tolerated in any workplace outside of MLB. It's also kind of funny, but Astudillo is the least of the team's problems right now... I would argue he is actually kind of having a quietly good season. However one could argue that the problem is that someone like him is getting regular playing time, which wouldn't happen on a team that actually has good players/doesn't have the injury troubles that we do.

    I think Falvine being cheap is the biggest culprit and elephant in the room. In 2019 we had a real opportunity at a run and we squandered it because of his unwillingness to upgrade the bullpen. Now it's 2021 and everyone is regressing, we dumped a bunch players like Rosario, and now our pitching is perhaps even worse than it was in 2019 and 2020. It's a mess and frankly it's inexcusable considering the power that we have in the lineup with Cruz, Buxton, Donaldson. All of the good teams have pitchers that can close out games pitching triple digits. We haven't had that in years. We keep acquiring cheap contact pitchers and it's just not working. I still believe this lineup is capable of being good, but man oh man... we need to end the Colome experiment and make some serious changes. Otherwise this is just going to be a wasted season.

    They need to get rid of Colome. Acting like he is magically going to get it together this season is borderline insane.

    it's just one game, but honestly feeling kind of frustrated. Basically all of the symptoms of why we can't win a post season game showed up. Really bad bullpen, critical errors, and stagnant offensive production during critical moments. Not to mention one of our highest paid players can't seem to ever be healthy. Lots to fix here... But anyone who isn't seeing things with rose colored Twins fan goggles will immediately recognize our biggest problem. Bullpen depth. Twins could really use one of those lanky side arm long-hairs that throw 100MPH fastballs during critical spots. Instead we have a box of misfits.
