Game Thread: Twins @ Angels, 5/23, 3:07 CT

POLANCO !!!!

[MVP Nick Punto]

Man, this feels like something really special. But I also thought that about my last relationship so..

Well, special doesn't /necessarily/ mean good, so...

[Cap'n Piranha]

Schoop that one out!!

This makes me think of John Stirling, Yankee radio play-by-play.  I think for rest of the game thread, we need to come up with the the home run catchphrase for each Twin.  I'll start with the obvious one;

"Kepler goes Max Power!"

[ashbury]

Ambush!

[Cap'n Piranha]

This is why the Angels are bad.

Harvey - $11 mill (more than any Twins starter) ... That's on top of all the other bad contracts.

It is criminal the extent to which the Angels are wasting Mike Trout.  If their MiLB system doesn't start churning out quality regulars, Trout's going to be 30 before he gets another chance at his first playoff win.

Anybody know who named Astudillo "La Tortuga," and when?

Tortoises can live to be over a hundred years old, so I'm not sure if there are any concrete records, but I thought I heard it was Hemingway.

Not a bad 2nd inning. I'll take it. Now, Mr. Perez... Attack!

You should have gone out and gotten some help at the deadline.

[ScrapTheNickname]

This isn't news really, but incredibly, the Twins are on pace to hit 304 home runs this season.

The record was set last year by the Yankees at 267. This can't be sustained. Can this be sustained?

[bighat]

Angels had 2 on, 1 out when I turned off the game to get some work done. 20 minutes later I turn it on and it's 6-0? Is this real life?

[Aggies7]

I did, and she asked for a draft pick in return

CRON CRUSH

[ashbury]

[Blake]

Are the Twins really good or are the teams they are playing really bad?

Hung that one for you, chief!

[Blake]

PTBNL?

[ScrapTheNickname]

This is exactly where we want Sano. To be in a lineup that crushes around him.

[Blake]

What's a Hemingway?

About 5 lbs?

[Aggies7]

You have to wonder when our guys are going to start to get plunked

[ScrapTheNickname]

Now on a pace for 307.
