Game Thread: Twins @ Yankees 3:05pm cdt 5/5/2019 ad

Since the time of dawn, i have been trying to think of a game thread idea worthy of the epic battle between the financial juggernauts of apple of extraordinary size, and the well raised featherweights of the midwest, a gap in resources only widened by the Aaron Hicks deal. (We flipped a pitcher with them at the last deadline, and got man they call Cave from them? Or was it Austin? I for get, but i don't think either is as memorable))

Naturally i don't got one. But they said i should write something anyway. So i shall have mercy and not run too much more. I might get thrown out.

It is the first Sunday in May, a month beloved by flowers, Camelot casts, and homonymsters alike. Probably others. And i still have not seen "It happens every springtime" in its entirety.

Bonus point. Month first or day first date formats agree today.

Frisbee.

I mean, Discus.

Ah... Discuss!

Pitching matchup:

Twins Micheal Pineda ( R)

Yankees Domingo German (R )

Line ups to follow.

(I know i know... one day i'll lead off with the lineups and y'all won't know what hit you)

I read this as “hornymonsters”, and wondered if they really did like the spring too.

Good morning! (it's still morning where I live. Oh, and get off my lawn!)

Today, Cleveland started a guy named Cody Anderson who hasn't started an MLB game since 2016. They are now losing 8-0 in the 4th.

In case anyone is wondering, the Yankees changed the game time to 4:05 Eastern Time due to a passing weather system.

Judging by future radar, 4:05 EDT is probably a realistic start time. However, I estimate only about 2 1/2 hours beyond that until the rain returns for the rest of the night. I suspect it will be a rain shortened game. Getting a lead and maintaining it will be of paramount importance.

A win today would be great! We would distance ourselves more from the Indians, who were routed 10-0 by Seattle this afternoon.

However, a win today would also be gravy on what's been a phenomenal week for the Twins, given the opponents. Even with a loss, going 4-3 against the Astros and Yankees in a week is impressive. However, emotionally, I like the sound of 5-2 just a tad better!

I endorse this strategery in any weather conditions.

Haven't been able to be nearly as active on here due to life responsibilities, but man this team has been great!! Let's get another W in this overblown little league field!

"Get in shape to pitch"...... ???? Pineda is in "shape"?

I guess he is not a stickler on fitness, no matter how much time he has to make it happen.

Never seen German pitch live, he has electric stuff. This might be a long day for our hitters..

Where are our guys that can be farmed up and pitch like this?

I always wonder the same thing, but the fact is the Yankees play with a huge advantage over almost every other team. It's not just in payroll or free agency either, spend tons on their farm system.
