Difficult play. I don't have any problem with him trying to make a play. The problem is not throwing the ball over the zone

Yup. Had Gardner in an 0-2 hole and walked him.

Judging by future radar, 4:05 EDT is probably a realistic start time. However, I estimate only about 2 1/2 hours beyond that until the rain returns for the rest of the night. I suspect it will be a rain shortened game. Getting a lead and maintaining it will be of paramount importance.

Change in strategy now - keep Pineda out there at his slow pace hoping the rain comes before the 5th inning.

I was waiting for someone to bring him up on this gamethread, but I believe he's gone 0 for 8 in the series thus far... I think?

Yeah, unfortunately we’re already behind and German is working at a lightning pace. I can definitely see them just trying to make it official even if they play in the mud.

I think he’s only had a double and now the walk. 5 for his last 35 but he’s never an easy out. Ever.

Why is Jason Castro ever batting above Buxton in the lineup? 

Castro has an .800 OPS last time I checked, and I don't mind batting Bux 9th as a "second leadoff."

This 567 is depressing Buxton should be at LEAST hitting sixth right now. Him behind adrianza castro and Gonzales is ridiculous. He's had quite a few lead off doubles in innings after the 8 hitter left multiple men on base

Don't understand having Ehire in the lineup. Schoop has been hitting the ball well. I understand he has to play, but I think he should be the one waived when Astudillo is back.
