Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 No way our left fielder just made that play at third haha come on
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Remind me again why Rodney pitched on Wednesday up 11-6? Exposure? Hoping to get rid of him before the circus is back in town, er... on the mound?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Bwahahahahahahahah Rosario. Jesus Christ.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I'm not crazy with our bench most days of the week in general, but to be fair in this case, we are down a man with Escobar getting traded this afternoon, and there isn't really anything they could've done to fill that spot for tonight's game. Doesn't make it any more inspiring for our chances in extra innings though, I'll give you that.Maybe they shouldn’t have waited until an hour before the game to make the trade. Rochester is probably somewhere near Boston tonight. Could have gotten someone.
adorduan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Is there anything Rosario CAN'T do? Wow!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I'm pretty sure analytics would suggest that sending Rodney out for his 4th outing in 5 games is a bad idea. This has nothing to do with analytics, it's Molly's insistence on only using his closer in save situations. Even Dick knew bringing in Rodney was a bad idea (though of course he's presenting the idea politely). Molly needs to have somebody as a backup closer when Rodney is not ready to pitch.I get it. I even agree with you.

But if the front office knew they were close to a move, why isn't someone waiting at Fenway incase the move is made on that day. Not saying it has to be Sano, but someone should be waiting. Petit. Gordon. Astudillo. Somebody should be there.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 That’s a pretty good inning for Rodney if you don’t count the game tying home run
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 He isn't though. Pressly is better, especially on the rest we're looking at with both guys Agree completely. I'm just saying that someone has dropped the ball, whether it's Molitor or Falvine. My feeling is that in this case it's the former.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I bet Moliter didn't expect to have to leave Rosario at 3B for 3+ innings when he pinch hit for Adrianza.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 And now we get the "FRE Experience!" Boo!
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 What did Molitor expect out of that inning ?
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Maybe they shouldn’t have waited until an hour before the game to make the trade. I doubt the front office told the Diamondbacks they had to make a decision more quickly in case the Twins needed a 25th man to win a game the night they're selling off one of their better hitters. 2. Rochester is playing in Louisville tonight.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Wast that ball to Kepler uncatchable or would a better route/setup have made it doable?
Blake Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Great play by Rosario. That man is a baseball player through and through.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Pictured: Jim Pohlad speaking to Falvine about Eddie Rosario.
adorduan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 My disgust with Rodney is rising to Ron Davis levels....

Blake Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Wast that ball to Kepler uncatchable or would a better route/setup have made it doable?Ball was hit on a line. I'm not sure Buxton could have got to that.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Wast that ball to Kepler uncatchable or would a better route/setup have made it doable? It was close to uncatchable. The thing didn't get more than 20 feet off the ground. Max made it look just about as ugly as he could but he wasn't going to catch that ball.
slash129 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Rodney looked terrible last night and gets it done. He actually looked much better tonight and blows it. Baseball.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 The Sox are throwing a guy with 7.94 ERA our way? Well, time to hit...

This has nothing to do with analytics, it's Molly's insistence on only using his closer in save situations. To that I would add that it seemed as if analytics said that it was a bad idea to send Rodney out as the 2018 closer in his age 41 season.

In any event, making a trade once the lineup card is filled out is not usually advisable. You make the trade when the trade is available. If you sit on your hands in a "what if" situation to get a win when you're throwing the white flag, Arizona might just hang up and find someone else to deal with overnight.
Blake Verified Member Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 Dick is right when he mentioned these have been two very entertaining games.
