jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 HOF looks at your whole career, how many guys have 3 batting title and don't get in, too many Twins fans discount what Mauer did early in his career because injuries have hampered his abilities, I know many fans will dipute this but Mauer will get in the hall of fame....no doubt at all. You're right it does ... and in the last 5 years he's been a very average player. While some might be undervaluing what he did early, you're undervaluing the effect of the latter years on his case. He was a generational talent for the first half, and Wally Joyner for the second.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Profar's standing so close to the plate that he had to swing directly downwards to try and hit that pitch. Great location on Rodney's pitch there.

He might sneak in to the HOF, but it’s borderline IMO, and he’s hurting his case with every season instead of helping it.
