Pooh.

Then they'd expect something from intros.

I appreciate my Norville Barnes-esc naivite.

as Platoon suggested, this might only be worth your while if you've got a substantial penny collection already :)

Looks like we're going with the get-away-day lineup.

Also it looks like the regular lineup too.

Can't be the get-away day lineup ... Motter's sitting. This is the A Team.

Did Grossman lose track of the count, happily protesting the call, or asking why time wasn't granted?

Yes.

I think that Grossman at bat clearly defines just what the Twins are this year.

Clueless and apathetic.

To me it looked like he lost count and thought that was strike 2.

Couldn't they at least play the AA team?

Right down to the embarrassed grin as he skulked back to the dugout.

Man, our offense is already bad enough, you might as well go down swinging against Colon. Hoping for good calls on borderline pitches like Grossman and Kepler just did is dumb.

BTW, Grossman has no power, has no defensive position, and his OBP skills have eroded. Why do we need him on the roster? Veteran-ness?

There is zero reason to take pitches against Colon. None. He’s not going to walk you, and you’re going to get fastballs. Swing the bat,.

The Twins are playing the long con - if they drag out the game, its going to get close to dinner time and Colon is going to get distracted thinking about food. And that's when we strike.

Good point, Colon does have a crazy low 1.3 BB/9. Trying to draw walks from him is a bad strategy...

Well, Belisle brings the pitching veteran-ness, so they need someone with no discernible worth to hold things up (or down) on the offensive side.

I think we have a new leader in the clubhouse.

Wow, when Berrios' breaking ball works, he's got the look of a true ace. Now let's hope he can keep that pitch count down and prevent the bullpen from getting involved too early.

For anyone wondering, it's been 17 PAs since Bobby Wilson's last hit. How much longer are we going to put up with a catcher who hits .136?

At least the rest of the season. Probably longer.

That's it?

Sadly, I doubt they'll pull the plug on him this year. As long as the pitchers that would succeed with or without him continue to succeed, they'll point to his game-calling abilities as reason to keep him around. Throw in a hit once a week and it's smooth sailing for him.

This FO seems to be bullish on the veterans they bring in.

That can't be right. I was told the new FO was different than the previous FO. I'm starting to think someone lied to me.
