Game Thread: Twins @ Chicago White Sox, 5/6/18 @ 11:10 AM PT (1:10 PM CT)

Today is day three of my Twins game thread extravaganza. Since taking on the responsibility, the Twins are 2-0. Coincidence? I hope so because no way I want to write a 162 game threads. Though, I suppose the possibility of the Twins FO offering financial remuneration might be an incentive to continue.

Anyway, I was taken to task about the brevity of previous posts and I protested that "brevity is the soul of wit."

Of course, the response I received was a rather tacky "and you've written something funny when?" I hate it when I get a query like that where I can just hear the tone at the end of the sentence go up in pitch.

Some stuff to think about:*

Random observations from last night:

1. Lance Lynn did pretty well. Nice to see him make the pitches when he needed to. More importantly, no walks.
2. Rosario had 5 RBI's. Though, first time I've seen a player hit a double and "run" with his legs spread that far apart.
3. Mauer: Walk machine.
4. Umpire last night: Somewhat generous strike zone.
5. Garver looked better behind the plate.

Lineups:

Unfortunately, again, I won't be home in time to post lineups. Hopefully one of our mods will be kind enough to pick up the slack.

However, Pitching for the Twins: Kyle Gibson.

Pitching for the White Sox: James Shields

Gibson appears to be figuring out how to translate his talent into effectiveness. And Chicago is starting the ghost of James Shields today. Extending the winning streak to 3 games would not surprise me.

That sounds pretty good to me, diet or no.

It was good... not a huge of the veggies, but then again, I'm not a huge fan of veggies in general.

If you remain unbeaten.

You will not be allowed to stop.  :)

You must keep going.

Yes, when you're on a streak, you respect the streak.

I can't give you a like.

I'm not a Salmon Guy.

Maybe a nice puce? Or, perhaps something in a pale pink?

This is often misquoted. Here is the correct and original version:

Figured Tim Salmon wasn't on this forum.
