Managers typically are hyper-careful about using pitchers that haven't fully earned their trust yet.  This would be a big win, especially on the heels of the home-opener tomorrow.  And, keep in mind the weather is not exactly an optimal condition to pitch in today.

Personally, I like the call to try to go for the jugular here. Plenty of time for Kinley, and anyone else, to earn their stripes.

My problem isn't not using Kinley. It is deciding to use Reed, your best RP, and Rodney, your (arguably) 2nd best reliever. Why? I understand in the circumstance not trusting your 7th best reliever, but you should be able to trust Duke or Pressly in this situation. No reason to use your top 3 pitchers out of the pen in this game.

Welcome to The Ferando Rodney Experience, Episode Two.  Buckle yourself in, enjoy the ride.

Maybe I’ll head to my kitchen now ...

It does seem odd to throw Reed and now Rodney with a 4 run lead.

But consider: Rodney did not pitch Monday. Reed did, so having him pitch was an iffy choice. Yesterday the Twins were off. They are also off Friday. Worst case they pitch consecutive days and then get a day off.

Just made a double. Tequila, mezcal, grapefruit juice, splash of Cointreau, bitters. Some soda. Needs more alcohol....

Post of the night nominee.

I still remember former Phillie manager Jim Fregosi saying of Mitch Williams, “Mitch doesn’t have ulcers, but he is a carrier.”

Pirates announcers pointing to Rosario's throw home to nail Polanco as the turning point. Can't really disagree.
