sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Hi! How are you doing this summer? My name is sampleSizeOfOne, My teach said i had to have a penpal over the summer. It would help me grow and learn and help me understand other places and peoples. I am not sure if that is true, but i think i get credit for trying, so here goes. I like the Twins. I think Buxton is really fast, and this new fellow Colon is funny to watch. But i get grounded if i make fun of his name... And lots of them are playing good too. But it is confusing as so many of them change which side of the plate they hit from. At least it doesn't seem to matter. Homers, triples, they just keep hitting the ball and running bases. All their minor teams are doing good too. Last i checked, they could all make the play offs. This makes me happy, because as i grow up and get good at stuff, maybe they will too. Anyway, Santa, i know it's a lot to ask, but well, it being your off season, i figured you weren't busy anyway. And i been good. Honest i have! I promise not to ask for a big name free agent when everyone else is pestering ya... And we haven't had a championship for more than 20 years! Oh yeah, you can start today, if ya don't mind... bighat Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Frightening news on CBS Sports re: Buxton: "Buxton (hand) revealed that he's dealing with a left hamate bone injury, and will receive the results from his MRI prior to Minnesota's matinee against the White Sox on Thursday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. If Buxton is indeed shelved with a fractured hamate bone, he could wind up missing the rest of the season, or at least close to it. The center fielder felt a "sharp pain" during a swing in his first at-bat Wednesday, and recorded a "painful hit" during his last plate appearance, according to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press. There will be a better sense of a timetable once Buxton receives the official test results, but it doesn't look too good at this point."

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Buck will rub dirt on it and be back no time.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I hope it's not yet time for a Souhan article blaming Buxton for injuring himself by playing too hard and making dangerous impact with walls and fields because he's running too fast.

70charger Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Don't look now, but Joe Mauer's hitting about 300. That OPS is creeping up toward 800 too.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Sox score first for the first time this series. Does not bode.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Sox score first for the first time this series. Does not bode. Does the one they scored on Perk last night not count as the Sox were technically 10-run ruled?
70charger Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Mauer would have gotten to that. (Last unprompted Mauer post, I promise.)
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Can Colon be the odd man out when Mejia comes back?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Author Posted August 31, 2017 Mauer would have gotten to that. (Last unprompted Mauer post, I promise.) I was considering prompting it... Which one?

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Listening to the White Sox Broadcast. They said the following. "Gimenez coming up with a .208 average and 6 homeruns. What does that mean? It means he's going to swing at the first pitch." Ummmm, what?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I blame my wife. I blame your wife too. Dammit Mrs. Charger!

TwinsCD Verified Member Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 This umpire is gonna get rocked in the mask if he keeps looking over the wrong shoulder on the inside pitches.
