InfraRen Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 All names Twins should like. I want Enlow in the next 15 minutes... This cup of Twins coffee just needs a little bit of Sweet Enlow. Tom Froemming, Dman, Dance with Disco Dan and 11 others 14
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hmmm, Twins? https://twitter.com/hudsonbelinsky/status/874667844469968896 Yeah, but the Twins pick first. So there's no teams for them to slide past unless the Twins are the team these guys are trying to scare away.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I'd feel a lot better about the pick if they stopped talking about his personality, and talked more about his ability to play baseball.... Hosken Bombo Disco 1
ScooterDance Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Broken link FYI I just removed the - in the word lets. This link should work

Steve Lein Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Sweet. I feel better already today. 70charger 1
InfraRen Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 bluechipper, gunnarthor, d-mac and 4 others 7
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 mike sixel1:07 The Twins seemed to over draft (under slot) all three guys. Assuming spreading 200K around on lesser players doesn't really matter, what's their plan, do you think? Eric A Longenhagen1:07 Heard they were on other Boras advisees during last night's selections but nothing came to fruition. Lewis is a Boras guy, so maybe the Twins are doing some math together with Scott and we'll see them show their work today? They're picking now.1:08 Blayne Enlow, RHP, St. Amat HS (LA)1:09 #33 overall on my board, chance for plus fastball and curveball, had one of the better max curveball spin rates measured on the showcase circuit (2700+ rpm)Reds take LHP Jacob Heatherly, Cullman HS (AL) gunnarthor and bluechipper 2
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So now we get to see the Twins spend some of the extra cash because he's probably going to cost a 1M or so over his .7M slot
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I do like this pick. And, they have MONEY! gagu and Squirrel 2
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So we pretty much drafted Enlow where Leach was expected to go, and Leach where Enlow was expected to go. Miles Tones, nicksaviking, Mike Sixel and 9 others 12

InfraRen Provisional Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Props to Jeremy for hitting this one in his mock! 35th overall (comp round A): $1,935,300: RHP Blayne Enlow, Louisiana prep. Enlow is a long (6’ 4”), powerful (mid-90s) right-handed pitcher who has impressed this year. I expect the Twins to draft more high-upside pitchers this year… (BA: 33; MLB: 29) Tom Froemming and wavedog 2
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So we pretty much drafted Enlow where Leach was expected to go, and Leach where Enlow was expected to go.Yep probably had info that Enlow would drop due to $ while Leach was going to go before their 76th pick.
gagu Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 The first signability question. pick. Extra allotment $$ may be in play here. From minorleagueball.com:"PROJECTIONEnlow projects as a mid-rotation starter, although he could be more than that if his fastball reaches its maximum potential and if the change-up develops into a plus pitch. He’s being mentioned as a late first round or supplemental round possibility on draft day and he’ll definitely need to be selected early due to the signability issues. College becomes increasingly likely if he gets too far past the top of the second round."
d-mac Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 I love me some high spin rates. Mike Sixel 1
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Now THIS starts to make sense and gets the day started off right! I really like this! gagu 1

70charger Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Things are starting to come together a bit more, right? Would we be less confused if it went 1 - Lewis, 2 - Enlow, 3 - Rooker, 4 - Leach? At the end of the day the order doesn't matter if they all sign, but there's some real talent in there. Mike Sixel, JaleelWhite FanClub, howieramone2 and 2 others 5
Ben Noble Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Absolutely love this pick. Enlow could've been rated higher but has a very strong commitment to LSU that will take some cash to pull him out of. bird 1

AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 It would appear the Twinshave Leach higher in their ratings than Enlow and/or were afraid of another team snagging him. Willihammer 1
70charger Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 It sure would have made more sense. And seems riskier. Can't argue with that. Maybe we focus on the talent part... Mike Sixel 1
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 So we pretty much drafted Enlow where Leach was expected to go, and Leach where Enlow was expected to go. Seems like the money should be pretty close to slot value when considering the combination of Leach and Enlow, so hopefully the Twins still have most of the Lewis/Rooker savings to work with.
TFelton Verified Member Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Assume with 15 hours to discuss this, Twins know Enlow parameters to sign.. A more traditional pick. SF Twins Fan, d-mac, Miles Tones and 2 others 5
