If you weren't paging attention, i cleverly left the word rules out of the title so it would actually be unwritten. I actually thought that sufficient as the entire intro, but would have understood if Chief and ChiTown disagreed. 1. No one can be told about the GameThread. You have to choose. Take the blue pill to continue on down the rabbit hole (yes, the sign says Eat Me on it. Please don't be offended) or take the red pill to continue with your normal. Media coverage. What? they're both blue? That can mean only one thing... You are already in the GameThread... It isn't so bad once you get used to our... 2. Hospitality. Yes, despite appearences, i consider us considerate folk. I think we're pretty good at making people feel welcome. But i then notice last night the Twins were hosting this group of ball players from the bay area out west. And whatwe do? we just blasted homerun after homerun off them. Was that what good host would do? Run up 9 on them and only let them score once? But then i thought we want the best from them. It is only natural to set the example. These next couple of games will be all the better for it. Which seems like a 3 Conundrum. Which i like to pose. And why the concept of unwritten rules apeals to me. I still don't know why a Raven is like a Writing Desk, nor how a cook's brainpan is like an overwound clock. But that's one more thing that keeps me going. What conundrums do you like? Castro in the 6 hole? Opposing pitchers throwing inside fastballs to Dozier? Or not Walking Sano? Or Danny Santana? 4 um... Deadlines. I am running a wee bit late. So i am just going to post this and lead 4 to the reader. 5 will then be extra credit. AthleticsKendall Graveman (R ) 1. Rajai Davis (R ) CF2. Trevor Plouffe ( R) 3B3. Ryon Healy ( R) DH4. I would've been cool with that bit of cleverness ... but not for every thread ... but I truly would have thought, 'Lol ... good one ...' as long as you put in the required info, too.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 So last Friday my team left work early for 2:30 happy hour... Wally Workhard on another team didn't like that and called our CEO to tattle on us. As a result, we're here until 7 tonight. But, we're making lemonade out of lemons and ordering pizza. So, still winning?

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Crap. My team left early today. Better hope you don't have a Wally Workaholic in your office that tattles on you!
bighat Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wally Work-a-lot really needs to take a chill pill. I'm on Mountain Time down here but my company works on Eastern Time. So I log in from my home office at 6am, get off at 3pm. Once you get used to that early start, getting off at 3pm rocks. Go to the grocery store, gym, whatever - home safe and sound by 5pm when everyone else is still spinning their wheels out and about.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Better hope you don't have a Wally Workaholic in your office that tattles on you! With a name like that, how could you not be bitter and hate the world and it's inhabitants. It sounds like it could be Slavic in origin.

Wally Work-a-lot thinks kissing the CEO's butt is going to get him/her that coveted promotion... Hate to break it to them, but that's not how to do it.

Hate to break it to them, but that's not how to do it. I'm confused. Is his name Wally Workaholic or Wally Work-A-Lot? I have been into guessing people's historical origin by there last name. If his last name is Work-A-Lot, it is probable that he is African in origin, I base this solely on knowing who Sir Mix-A-Lot is and his body of work.

If it were Slovak, it would probably end in č, not c. And on that subject, I'm genuinely pleased that MLB has started putting the appropriate accents on the Spanish-surname players' jerseys and in the box scores. (And they are ahead of the New York Times and the other U.S. newspapers I read on this.) I've always felt it was an insult to leave them off. And it leads to perpetual mispronunciation: How many players named Pérez have had the accent placed incorrectly by announcers on the second syllable?

PDX Twin Verified Member Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 I don't have that stuff on my keyboard. Although... to be fair... My keyboard doesn't have commas either. or the letter " " If you are really interested, Microsoft provides language-based keyboards that give you exotic things like the caron on top of the c, but for simple Spanish accents over vowels just hold down control while you type the apostrophe, then type the letter. I can't leave the Slovak keyboard on because the č key takes the place of the number 4, so I'm forever trying to type numbers and ending up with +šáľťčí or something similar.
