Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hey Max, maybe when facing a lefty, you shouldn't swing at first pitch sliders down in the zone. Maybe.
lukeduke1980 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 He's going to have to hit much better than he has - even to stay up through May. He's not "struggling" right now. He's not "slumping". He's not "in a bad patch". Buxton isn't a major league hitter right now. If you took a high school prospect - today - and threw him into the Twins batting order tomorrow....that's what you're getting right now with Bux. Strikeouts, foul outs, and bunt outs. Mostly strikeouts. It's bad on historic levels. It's one thing to let a young guy work things out. It's another to allow a player to set records for futility. Bux has a lot of work to do to stick with this team past April 30 at this point. What if he struggles hitting at Rochester?

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Ted Turner got his hands on it. Why he's interested in Chief is anyone's guess.classic!

Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 It's been a long time since I could look at a Twins' box score and see we used 5 pitchers all with an ERA at or under 3.00.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 YOU'RE TOM BRADY!?!?!?!?! I've wanted to break this news to you guys for so long..... Feels good that it's finally out in the open now.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Molitor showing some fight!
gocgo Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hmmm. Perhaps we are who we thought we were.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Gardy text Molitor telling him to WAKE your guys up????
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Maybe Buxton, not yet 23 1/2 years old, should be sent to AAA for an extended period, like say a year or more. I know others think (and I have thought) he needs to work it out at the big league level, but ... when he's 26, could ... really, I have nothing original to say.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hey Max, maybe when facing a lefty, you shouldn't swing at first pitch sliders down in the zone. Maybe. I will never rip someone for not succeeding vs Andrew Miller.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Molly, trying to show why he needs more pitchers.... edit: or not, guess Molly's eating dinner already.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Why did Molitor get booted? He got busted trying to get another bench player from the stands.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I will never rip someone for not succeeding vs Andrew Miller. Definitely not ripping him for not succeeding. Miller is good enough without helping him out by swinging at pitcher's pitches on a 0-0 count; I'm ripping Max for that.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Oh yay. Another pitching change.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This reminds me, if there's one thing I miss about Gardy, it's all the times he got ejected.
lukeduke1980 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hmmm. Perhaps we are who we thought we were. And we let them off the hook
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Why did Molitor get booted? He was showing us he doesn't know the check swing rule.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Oh yay. Another pitching change.10 pitchers to pitch 17 innings of baseball. Yawn.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Oh yay. Another pitching change.6 pitchers sooo far, wonder if we ever see a game, where as many pitchers appear as fielders
Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This reminds me, if there's one thing I miss about Gardy, it's all the times he got ejected. Seems like that's a lost art now with all the replay reviews to settle disputes.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 What if he struggles hitting at Rochester? Then....he probably won't have a very good MLB career if he can't hit AAA pitching. I think he can. He's clearly overmatched at the MLB level right now, though. Maybe that injury year really set him back. Looks like it's "wait 'til next year" with Buxton again.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 The singular way to speed up the game is to use fewer relief pitchers per game. This, however, cannot be regulated. Pandora's box has been opened, and so the length (and general tedium) of games will go on.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 IMO, this all fell apart with the removal of Duffey, and the IBB.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Pressly with some solid 2 out pitching.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This has spiraled completely out of control.
