Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Danny: "Chisenhall had a good year last year, stayed healthy and played in 126 games". Which means he didn't play in 36 games, which is more than 20% of the season. If he wasn't hurt, and was good, why did he sit so much?

No body wants to discuss that and it should get you out the door and into a bar watching the Twins. Make sure wherever you decide go after leaving work its far enough away so you don't run into anyone from the office." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At my age, I'm one spicy burrito from the real thing. So, no reason to lie, in my case. Although, I think my boss is catching on because he tends to ask if I had a spicy burrito the night before. I may have to change things up and go with a spicy enchilada.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Or you could really throw your boss a curveball and tell him you had spicy flan.I prefer the Chief school of brevity. I would much rather say "yes" or "no" when questioned about the specifics of my eating habits.
70charger Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Mauer doesn't have an extra base hit in 55 plate appearances... that's a nice .216 batting average to go with a .216 slugging percentage. I think that's the same stats I had when I played baseball in 12th grade. You jinxed him! It's all your fault.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Well, there's Joe with his first extra base hit of the year. He must have heard my comment.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I feel the need to share this. I've been married four times. My first marriage was, luckily enough, to a really wealthy debutante. Didn't last, but I found a beautiful actress and much to my surprise, she said yes. Didn't last. I then married a preacher lady, and my most recent Mrs Chief is an undertaker. ... wait for it... .... one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.

wavedog Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Extra base hit for Joe!! Reverse jinx is working. Keep those references of poor playing coming! I'll start - Buxton has a 5.75 Strikeout to hit ratio.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Grossman, as a DH has a .324 average for the year. Interesting.

wavedog Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 How many times have we not scored a runner from 2nd on a hit? Unfortunately I don't get to watch the games only following on gameday so not sure the reason - slow/poor runners, tentative 3rd base coach, hard hit balls?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 How many times have we not scored a runner from 2nd on a hit? Unfortunately I don't get to watch the games only following on gameday so not sure the reason - slow/poor runners, tentative 3rd base coach, hard hit balls? In general, I'm with ya. Especially with 2 outs, I send the runner every. single. time on a hit to the OF and make em throw the guy out. In this case, Mauer had to hold up on a shallow popup and make sure it was going to drop. Nothing to be done.
