Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Mauer vs Miller. Remember when this used to excite Twins' fans?
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This is a family site, so definitely not like that.I did a quick family edit.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Sorry, I was being facetious. Then use the facetious font so this sort of thing doesn't happen.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 The third pitching change in an inning should cost a run. This is brutal.Francona must be pretty exciting at home too. Does he change desserts three or four times after dinner?
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Then use the facetious font so this sort of thing doesn't happen.Sorry! I was impressed by your quick math though.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Mauer vs Miller. Remember when this used to excite Twins' fans? No.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I was thinking if the month May is this bad, beginning of June Buxton would go down. At some point he needs to start making a little bit of progress, he cannot be this inept a hitter at least you would think now.If Buxton is still hitting under .100 in June what would a June swoon look like?
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 ....Or on 2nd thought go Eddie! A message to Buxton, by taking him out?????
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 A message to Buxton, by taking him out????? No message, just trying to win. Buxton doesn't need "messages" at this point, does he?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Between innings, TIBN runs some "get to know em" type questionnaires on Twins players. On the Taylor Rogers one, it was revealed that Rogers has a twin brother. Are we sure that was Taylor pitching, and not his brother having a laugh?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I get more frustrated watching Mauer hit than Buxton. I still have hope Buxton will improve. Or at least try.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 No message, just trying to win. Buxton doesn't need "messages" at this point, does he? I would hope he has unlimited texts. He's in the majors, spring for the unlimited plan, for crying out loud!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Fun fact: Today is National High Five Day! Did you know? Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke were the first people to celebrate with a high five 40 years ago! Dusty hit a moon shot on the last day of the 1977 regular season, and Burke raised his arm up to celebrate. Which makes me think, what did people do before the high five? Chief?
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If Buxton is still hitting under .100 in June what would a June swoon look like? If, still under .100 in June??? I would say it was another swoon in a previous month.I don't think I have ever typed swoon lol lol
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I get more frustrated watching Mauer hit than Buxton. I still have hope Buxton will improve. Or at least try.No excitement for either, here. So equal frustration.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 No.Chief, that was a long time ago...of all the people I would have thought would remember that was you.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 No message, just trying to win. Buxton doesn't need "messages" at this point, does he?Well, he hasn't improved at all, so if messages have been given to him? He is not responding.

Did they have baseball hats back then, Chief????
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Well, he hasn't improved at all, so if messages have been given to him? He is not responding. I don't think improvement is about messages at this point. Nor do I think he's not trying. None of that....I think a: he's not that good at hitting in general; b: he's pressing really hard right now.

They had a tough time with the slap part.....

bighat Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I was thinking if the month May is this bad, beginning of June Buxton would go down. At some point he needs to start making a little bit of progress, he cannot be this inept a hitter at least you would think now. He's going to have to hit much better than he has - even to stay up through May. He's not "struggling" right now. He's not "slumping". He's not "in a bad patch". Buxton isn't a major league hitter right now. If you took a high school prospect - today - and threw him into the Twins batting order tomorrow....that's what you're getting right now with Bux. Strikeouts, foul outs, and bunt outs. Mostly strikeouts. It's bad on historic levels. It's one thing to let a young guy work things out. It's another to allow a player to set records for futility. Bux has a lot of work to do to stick with this team past April 30 at this point.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 This game is already well over 3 hours old and there is still an inning to go. In a game in which 6 runs have scored. But MLB doesn't have a pace problem.
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 How'd you get Chief's high school yearbook picture? Can't be Chief's as it is in color. Or did you color it???I see a tread: Twins sucking, pick on Chief as it helps lol lol
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 There's our 4th/5th OF, Eduardo Escobar. Bring up Adriana, Vargas, Park, Paulson, Palka, somebody! We can't win if we can't score and, let's face it, we can't score. Agreed. There needs to be some kind of spark. Or it's just a team slump and they will come roaring out of it eventually (hopefully before we're 15 games behind)
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Man, I really like the changes in Sano this year!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Can't be Chief's as it is in color. Or did you color it???I see a tread: Twins sucking, pick on Chief as it helps lol lol Ted Turner got his hands on it. Why he's interested in Chief is anyone's guess.
