Looks like rain, oh well.

In honour of the recent 28th anniversary of the greatest baseball movie ever made, and the it's connection to the Twins opponent, I bring you the Major League Game Thread.

All discussion in today's thread must be in relation to the movie. If something happens in the game, only Major League references are to be used. Players will be referenced by who you think most closely resembles them in the movie, from both teams.

For inspiration, here is a list of the funniest lines from the movie

Considering that we have dropped the last 3 and are on a bit of a skid, a rainout would be mother natures way of ending the skid.  I think the forecast calls for partly partly with a chance of darkness toward evening.  It also give us fans a chance to pause and catch our wits.

OK, so, we are 7-7 and have won only 3 of the last 10.  However, KC is 6-7, Cleveland is 7-7, Chicago is 7-7, and the division leading Tiggers are 1.5 games in front of us at 8-5.  Everyone is within 2 games of each other.  Considering where we were last year at this time, I'll take it.  We need a rainout and a postponement to a date when we are hitting the baseball again.  It's all good.

It's ironic that the game would be postponed, considering it was scheduled to be nationally broadcast on ESPN.

Nature is just saving the world from having to watch, I guess.....maybe Nature knows something.

No, it's a coincidence. George Carlin would like a word with you.

Rainout??

Figures. Tonight was "Die Hard Night." Free admission for anyone Who was actually alive the last time the Twins won the pennant.

Partly my fault.

I read 17th anniversary and greatest baseball movie ever made and was confused because i couldn't reconcile the two.

Surely It happens every Springtime is older than that.

"Rules... You said your finger was a gun. There are no rules here..." Comes to mind as well, but that movie is more funny when it takes itself too seriously.

Does Naked Gun count as a Baseball movie?

North, please don't tease us and make us believe it is 2006. I was a youthful 30 back then.
