The trade deadline is going to be very interesting if the Twins are still competing and Santana keeps Cy Young'ing

If the Twins are competing, they would become buyers not sellers, I would think.

If they are 'competing' for the second Wild Card I would expect them to be sellers.

However, KC is probably going to be selling. Might be a buyers market.

Even if it's borderline? This was supposed to be a 2-3 year process I thought...

 

And don't get me wrong, I've become very impatient waiting for winning baseball too. I'm just wondering how the new FO is gonna think

Well, by competing I wasn't thinking of that as borderline. Borderline, who knows. But if we are getting it done, and Santana is a huge part of that, I'm not sure you can just sell when you need that piece to continue the road you are on. If you are looking good for a playoff spot and beyond you have the keep the pieces that got you there and that hopefully will carry you beyond.

 

But who knows.

And, what universe am I in? Mr. Santana pitched a 1 hit shutout? I didn't know Twins pitchers were allowed to do that!

I'm just going to come out and say it.

 

Ervin is one of the top two Santanas to ever pitch in a Twins uniform. 

Strangely both of their first names are Johan and Ervin probably changed his because of this.
