Game Thread: Twins vs Royals, 4/5 @ 12:10 CDT

[Mike Sixel]

En jeugo, carrera(s).....love those words when the Twins are batting.

[hybridbear]

Almost a grand slam!

[Danchat]

SANO!!!

[KirbyDome89]

Must be the perfect batting weight....

[Cap'n Piranha]

It's a good thing to have goals in life!

What?

Have you ever thought of coaching soccer, hockey, or lacrosse?

Can't hit a homerun to left because of the wind? A bases-loaded triple to right works even better.

[MNTSchmitt]

Wow...Sano is literally dangerous enough to worry about him going yard every time he swings the bat.

[spinowner]

Castro 4 for 4, sort of.

[kydoty]

Just replayed it. Damn, that was about maybe three inches away from a grand slam.

[TwinsCD]

I again ask the question as to why a pitcher would ever throw Sano something other than off-speed stuff.  Yesterday, it was a fastball he launched into the seats.  Same thing today with the triple.  Their mistakes equal our smiles.

[TonyInOmaha]

Another nice 7th inning to get the bullpen a cushion today.

[Cap'n Piranha]

What a waste of time.  Didn't the Royals get the memo about the four fingers?

The push notification on my phone says: "Miguel Sano pega un triple en la parte baja de la 7ma, 3 corredores anotan. Los Twins amplían su ventaja sobre los Royals, 6-1."

[GP830]

If the season was 1.6 games long, I think Sano would have a case for MVP. No?

[Danchat]

And Castro takes his 4th walk of the game, 9th total for the Twins. Do the Royals know how to throw strikes?

[hybridbear]

The walks are awesome! I wonder if this the Twins will draw walks like this against any other teams or if it's just an early season cold weather induced wildness from KC pitchers.

[wavedog]

Wow, this is like the inverse of last season - a lot of timely hitting and patience in these 2 games - I know very early but this feels good.   I am following the game thread and the ESPN update here at work in between work so it is always a race to see where I can get the latest news first.   Much better descriptions on here so thanks for all the posts!

[Respy]

Castro must be really hungry for chips and walkamole.

[youngtwinsfan]

Its nice to see someone elses bullpen letting the game get out of hand late.

[operation mindcrime]

Woooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

[James]

Escobar!?!?!?!  I like it.

[Cap'n Piranha]

Esco one ups Sano!

[hybridbear]

Can Strahm please pitch to the Twins every time they play KC?

[Danchat]

ESCOBAR!!!!!!!

[D. Hocking]

If someone starts doing math problems in Spanish, I think it would take the game thread to a whole new level.

It is kind of a bummer that Mike's birthday is 363 days away.

[Mike Sixel]

jjjjjoooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnroooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnn!

[Cap'n Piranha]

I think the 7th is our inning.

Let's hope we all make it that far, at least...

[TwinsCD]

An Esco-bomb!!

I like this Strahm guy.  Can he pitch every night against us?

[gheggs42]

Looks like the decision to play Esco worked out  . We are looking good so far! Timely hitting
