Personally, I think people sell Escobar too short. He was hurt last year.  Will be an interesting situation if he and Polanco are both hitting well.

Won't be interesting, will be a wonderful problem to have. Bring it on, I could use a few more good problems. I hope they both light it up.

I kept thinking that the last few months. Why is escobar such an after thought?

 

Maybe more to the overly beateten horse carcass of a point, why in god's name is santana still around when the utility role is so aptly suited for Eduardo Escobar?

Santana's main redeeming quality is that he's young.  He's had success in the majors in 2014 and did well in Rochester in 2015. I agree that his overall numbers are underwhelming, but if he's a late bloomer, then perhaps his bat could be somewhat useful.

 

He's definitely one of the guys I'd cut sooner than later, and there's no way he'd be ahead of Escobar on my pecking order, but I can certainly see why they would want to keep him around.

No dispute. Santana is a some what talented MFer. Very athletic, and versatile in the field (good or bad). It comes down to a numbers game, and when the time comes he'll probably hook up with another team - best to him.

 

Tomorrow he will be our starting CF. That's my guess at least. If you like Santana, take a glimpse, because he will be with a new team in the next few months. There is no place for him on this club when they recalibrate.
