Game Thread: Twins vs Royals, 4/5 @ 12:10 CDT

I hope he's a legit #2 while with the Twins ... and a legit #4 wherever else he lands.

Compromise is always a good thing.

Just stopping by ... brief lunch break.

Have you fixed a drink yet?

"Watching" at work through gameday. How are Buxton's at-bats looking today? How hard hit was his last out?

Not good.

He did not barrel the ball well last at bat, though he pushed it out to the OF.

The White Sox are really embracing rebuilding mode. I'm glad to see that they're going to give us some free wins.

Based on the White Sox' apparent plan to ride out the season and trade anyone with value, and how awful the Royals appear to be, it may be hard for the Twins to finish any lower than third in the Central.

Yeah, though I'm not convinced the Royals are going to be bad. I could still see them finishing at .500.

After last year, that's a bold statement.

Castro has reached base in six of his first seven Twins' at-bats. That's... that's pretty good for a defense-first catcher.

The amount of walks we have taken so far this year is very encouraging. Think it is related to the new hitting coach or just terrible pitching?

[hybridbear]

I'm liking Castro through 2 games so far! 3 BB today is great!

I'm not tired of not hearing Bruno in the background hollering encouragement.

I'd give my opinion, but I'm trying to be positive.

A negative + a negative = positive. Remember, math thread.

Yes, because that is how addition works.

That's a negative multiplied by a negative.  A negative + a negative is still a negative.

I took Bert's CA math class....

I still have to get used to a pitcher wearing #9. Even John

Lennon might have trouble with #9, #9, #9...

I didn't realize John Lennon was that good at baseball.

What flavor was it?

[ashbury]

I didn't realize John Lennon was that good at baseball.

He was good enough to play professionally, not good enough to reach the majors.

What?

[ashbury]

Nice swing-and-miss strikeout on the Uncle Charlie by Belisle. Not sure every batter will bite on that, but it was effective in this instance.

Why do so many come opening day, and not come back?

errr. here, not the games.

Hold on, I imagine this was yesterday.  I wonder if he had to quit cold turkey.  Gimme some truth.

Same reason.
