That curveball is sinister.

I agree. Kirby Puckett said a curve ball was a gift from god because a lot of pitchers throw a curve with a little hump in it that allows you to get under it and drive it a long way. A really good curve has almost no hump. It starts at a certain level, then goes down, not letting the batter get under it. I expect Berrios to get tons of ground ball outs from that curve.

Did Arcia spend some time with Berrios in Triple A last year? I'm starting to wonder if JO had an influence on Arcia's work ethic and attitude.

Yeah,  good to see progress,  but it would have been nice if Dozier could have picked up that 7-10 split.

Jose won't be too long for this game if he can't stop getting into deep counts.

That's OK. Meyer will blow them away when he comes in.

Berrios has a very funky change-up. 83mph, and it fades right quite a bit. He's going to get some very sneaky strike 3's with that...

The pace of this game is excruciating.

Not much you can do on a golf shot like that double to left center but tip your cap to the cat swinging the three iron and hope that next time Buxton is out there in center instead to reel it in.

Damn... They don't foul off this stuff in the minors. 

 

Yup.    It wouldn't surprise me if about 90-95% of what he (or any other rookie pitcher) is thinking so far in this game starts with the word 'damn'.
