USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Predictions? Analysis? I like the Royals in six. Much better BP and deeper lineup overcomes Mets SP advantage.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I'm rooting hard for the Mets, but I think the Royals high contact lineup will win them this series in 5 games. Those "Kansas City Specials" are demoralizing.
ashbury Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I'll take the Under. Oops, wrong pool. Royals in 7 or fewer. OK, OK. Royals in 7.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I also think the Royals are better adjusted to playing with an NL lineup (though that didn't show in the regular season) so I say Royals in 6 as well.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Something needs to be done NOT to take the postseason into November. Bang-bang-bang playoff games the first two rounds. It seems to be counterproductive to have a weekend without baseball before starting you Big Event on a Tuesday (Monday Night football and ALL football be damned!). Can we say "Momentum-tum-tum killer!" I don't know he answer. But am a firm believer that playoff games CAN be played at the same time as each other as they have appeal morso to subset of fans. Royals and Mets. Will be an interesting series. Royals in five!
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I keep thinking back to NLDS game 5 when Collins brought in Sundegaard and he just lit up the Dodgers. And then Familia finished out the final 6 outs. I think Collins will do that again with one or two of his aces before the end of the WS. Prediction, the Royals play brilliant defensively and on the bases but lose to overwhelming pitching in 7 games.
jimmer Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I hope the Royals just run right through the Mets.
Platoon Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hoping for the Royals to win it. But the Mets starting pitching is a great equalizer. The Royals bullpen is minimized if the Mets SP keeps it very close. But Royals in 7, just by the hair on my chinny chin chin!
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I could go either way, but I would love a 7 game series! Seems like they could be evenly matched enough to do it.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 My favorite quote was David Wright after the Mets eliminated the Cubs. "This city deserves this." I can't think of a city that deserves success any less than New York.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I predict whatever Nostrombolimus predicts.

Blake Verified Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Way back in July, I put money on KC, in Las Vegas, to win the series. I thought all season that KC was on a mission. So, not only do I think KC will win it, I put money on it. Vested interest, as it were.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I think it could go either way. But I'll say KC in 7. In 7 is as close to 'either way' as it comes.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 My real question is: will they still be playing by Thanksgiving?
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 One benefit of a late World Series: Halloween candy will be a readily available snack.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Tonight, the 2015 World Series begins with the Kansas City Royals facing the New York Mets. The Royals are representing the American League Central Division. So, here's your chance... what are your predictions for the World Series? I'm saying Mets in 5 games...
biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Royals are the best AL matchup to counter the Mets' pitching, both the starters and Familia (whose sinker is absolutely ridiculous and filthy). The biggest issue for the Mets will be missing by far their best infield defender in Ruben Tejada. With the Royals speed and contact focus, that could lead to a lot of extra hits trickling through the infield, especially up the middle with the poor defensive combination of Daniel Murphy and Wilmer Flores. Mets are one of the better NL matchups for the Royals in that their hitters are noted for their ability to handle high velocity stuff, and once you get into the Royals bullpen, which is their biggest strength, it's a whole lot of velocity that most teams struggle with. The Mets can attack that velocity in their lineup. They'll need another elite offensive performance like Daniel Murphy gave in order to have a chance. I'm taking Royals in 6, but I expect a good series.
James Verified Member Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I can see the case for either team winning this one. So, complete shot in the dark... Mets in 6.
ashbury Verified Member Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I said in a thread elsewhere, Royals in 7. So here I'll go with a Mets sweep.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I predict much excitement, with 2 blow outs, but 4 other really good games.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 I predict Murphy does not hit a HR in each WS game.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I predict there is no game tonight. (Raining in KC with no indications of stopping.) My source: a MLB staffer (they are in my hotel) was very unsure; hoping, but unsure.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 I predict there is no game tonight. (Raining in KC with no indications of stopping.)Buzzkill Chitown. I blame you.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Buzzkill Chitown. I blame you.See my edit above. What can I say ... I stepped off the plane here in KC to rain. While not heavy, it's remained consistent.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I know more KC fans (like 3-0), so I guess I'm pulling for NY so I don't have to listen to them and read their overly happy FB posts......or maybe I want that. I guess I don't care, just want good games.
jimmer Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I predict Harold Reynolds will say about 1 million stupid things as he announces the games.
