USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 I predict Harold Reynolds will say about 1 million stupid things as he announces the games. So you don't think it goes six games then, I guess.

dgwills Provisional Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Very close series. I'll pick the Royals to win in seven. More consistent in the regular season this year. Mets have a lot of streaky players.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Harold Reynolds has twice called Familia's sinker a split finger. After Familia spent a large part of his media day time explaining that the pitch is a two-seam fastball, you'd think Fox and Reynolds would get that right.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Oh yeah baby! This game is tied!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Every time the Royals are down they find a way to claw back into the game. Amazing
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Free baseball is good. But I wouldn't mind if the Royals held the Mets here and won it in the bottom of the 11th.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Chris Young = Aroldis Chapman + Mariano Rivera Bottom 12th, come on Royals and finish this!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Geez, this is quite the game. And to think I thought I'd miss most of it because of work.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Game one to the Royals 5-4 in 14 innings. 13 pitchers used, time of game 5:02. Fun with numbers: game two of the 1916 WS also went 14 innings. Final 2-1 Boston. Totàl pitchers used: 2, time of game 2:32. Winning pitcher: Babe Ruth, who is actually the same age as tonight's loser, Bartolo Colon. //and no, I was not in attendance. I watched on TV.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 The final play last night ... the play was closer than I thought it would be. No question he was safe, I just didn't think the throw would even get there. Do any of our outfielders get the runner there?

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 From what I read, no one was sad when Fox had to go to the alternate feed and give us good announcers.... I went to bed at 10:30.....but I saw a bit,
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Elevator conversation is fun with the MLB staffers here.

Or both. I coulda paid closer attention. I actually was driving through the wee hours of the morning, and gave up trying to find new radio stations as the distant ones i found were consumed by static or competing signals... Yeah, seems i missed a good one... Think i'm gonna try paying attention tonight, but i'm having a hard time without 5 things to think about...
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 This announcing crew is driving me to a simmering rage. Each one is dumber than the last, particularly the needlessly pompous Verducci. Congrats Fox, I miss McCarver!
biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I'm not sure if ARod is actually good with analysis.... ....or if the rest of Fox baseball is so incredibly bad that it makes him sound better.

biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 The Royals have really taken advantage of every misstep of the Mets tonight. Even though the game's not anywhere near "close", it's a lot of fun to watch.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I'm not sure if ARod is actually good with analysis.... ....or if the rest of Fox baseball is so incredibly bad that it makes him sound better.Yes, I keep disgusting myself by thinking A-Rod's not too bad at this and surely will be talking to me through my TV for another couple decades now.
biggentleben Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Yes, I keep disgusting myself by thinking A-Rod's not too bad at this and surely will be talking to me through my TV for another couple decades now. Before he went to NY and became the push pin of anyone and everyone out there, ARod was considered well-spoken and a student of the game. Perhaps TV would be the way to bring back that image of him to the general public.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I wouldn't trade Sano for anything and I like Rosario, Dozier and Vargas, but watching the Royals makes me think the Twins have to find a way to start avoiding hitters who can't make make enough contact to keep moving the runners along.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Doesn't your team get DQ'd if your starter throws more than 120 pitches?
Blake Verified Member Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 So, we had two predictions for the Mets to take it in 5 games. And one is the owner of Twins Daily! I dunno, maybe we need to keep a closer eye on Mr. Stohs? Anyway, the Mets bullpen is now officially hurt. Cueto came through and gave the Royals bullpen a breather.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 OK sports fans, thought exercise: Lets say the Twins are in the series instead o the Royals, and have just won games one and two at home (I know, I know...far fetched, but work with me here). You have tickets to games six and seven. Do you want the Twins to end it in New York, and fly home for the parade? Or do you want the series to come back home, so you can attend, with, of course, the chance they end up losing the series?
