blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I thought the Twins didnt want a bullpen game, leave Duffey in to pitch 90 to 100 pitches, game is already lost pretty much and good experience for him, or maybe they think he is too fragile. LOL
S. Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Let Duensing and Boyer take their lumps if it gets to that. If we let them each pitch 3 innings, theres a good chance they won't be available for a few days. Silver linings and whatnot.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Good thing the Twins were able to avoid that bulllpen day by starting Duffey.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Bremer on Plouffe's being "picked off" second, slightly paraphrased: '...well, not so much 'picked off', I guess, but more like randomly wandering halfway to third base, stopping, dressing up in a Little Bopeep costume, having a small picnic, and then not quite making it back in time for tea, or to beat the throw.'
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Too bad for Tyler Duffey. His first start reminded me of another guy that had a rough first few. Trevor May.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Duffey could slide into the pen for a bit, and we could skip his next turn with the off day Monday
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 So, my granddaughter's birthday is coming up, and I'm a little too old to know what the kids like these days. Somebody recommended the new "Divorced Barbie"...what do ya'll think about that as an idea. Apparently, it comes with all of Ken's stuff.

LOL They didn't want to waste May taking a day off to have a bullpen day for May, hence taking him out of the Toronto series. Or at least that's how I interpreted it.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I think Molitor should consider challenging some of those homeruns! Can you challenge second deck vs mezzanine? Or whether which fan gets credit for the catch and which for the assist? Help me I don't understand.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Neil Allen: Are you ready kid? Duffey: I think so... I've never done this before at this level. Allen: No problem... I can show you how this works... Just come over here and place your hands in these shackles. Duffey: OK... I'm shackled... I can't move... now what do I do. Allen: Do you see that trap door in front of you... Just wait here for a bit. The Lions will be out soon.
Blake Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Batista deserves one in the ribs for standing at the plate like he did. Twins pitchers need to start going hard inside again.
jorgenswest Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Return Duffey. With Monday off 5th starter not needed for 10 days. Call up a bat tonight (not a SS). Get May stretched out by the 15th.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 They're going into their patient plate approach this inning I see......
amjgt Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Oh, this story again. Hutch is lined up for about 5 straight 8-pitch innings
Blake Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 By the way, Joe Mauer needs to either have some sort of "injury" and take a few months off or retire. Then bring up Vargas and let him find his way.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Note to RB:This qualifies as a positive post I know and it was an exceptional point.
amjgt Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 What's the over/under on Twins hits for the rest of this game? I say 4, and I'm taking the under.1 hit until the 9th when we get 3 hits and a meaningless run to lose 12-4
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Too bad for Tyler Duffey. His first start reminded me of another guy that had a rough first few. Trevor May. Yup. And with any luck he too can string together 90 innings as a plus starter and prove himself worthy of a bullpen mop of his very own...
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Too bad for Tyler Duffey. His first start reminded me of another guy that had a rough first few. Trevor May.To be fair, May didn't allow a HR until his 5th start. Just walked the yard.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Laugh at me all you want. But I still say Ben can play for my team any time. My Revere flag is still flying.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 or you know Josh Donaldson eating some poorly warmed Chinese food, and getting the runs. Mmmm. Now I can look forward to involuntarily making that connection the next time I look up a player's RC+. God only knows what the 'plus' will stand for.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I want to get behind the blue jays for the postseason...but I feel like their fans are sort of douchey.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Batista deserves one in the ribs for standing at the plate like he did. Twins pitchers need to start going hard inside again. I'm perfectly OK with that. I'd like to see a little tude from my Twins.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Kaboom! This is like watching the home run derby!
blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 They didn't want to waste May taking a day off to have a bullpen day for May, hence taking him out of the Toronto series. Or at least that's how I interpreted it.I took it as, they didnt want to 4 or 5 members of the bullpen, but that is what they are going to do anyway. Because they have no pitchers that pitch more than 2 innings, other than maybe Graham.
