Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Oh God!!! I'm gone... even when I'm here.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Remember that week that TD really wanted Fryer to be the starter for the rest of the based on one 2 hit game? Good times. In fairness, the front office basically has signaled to us Pinto will never be an option.

Good times.Remember when everyone wanted to upgrade the catcher position before they resigned Kurt Suzuki again?....................good times.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Boyer's ERA is below 3? I know he's given up a zillion inherited runners, but I cannot believe he's below 3.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 In fairness, the front office basically has signaled to us Pinto will never be an option. It's really too bad about the concussion this year. Not that it would have happened, but I really wanted to see him get a shot this year.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Four fastballs in the exact same spot and Fryer takes like one swing at it Why swing when you know you can't hit it anyway?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I have made a lot of bad posts, and put some bad ideas out there but bring Eric Fryer to the 40 man and 25 man roster equals worst thread starter ever. Thought being positive this thread would some how work, nope not to be. Fryer joining the team wasn't the worst thing ever. At least they were trying to improve from Herrmann's inept batting. But, predictably, it hasn't worked out. It wasn't the worst thing ever.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Were those the first ground balls Toronto hit tonight?
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Remember when everyone wanted to upgrade the catcher position before they resigned Kurt Suzuki again?....................good times. We are just full of good timing memories
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Two goose eggs. A step in the right direction. Yeah... The Bleeding has stopped... Or... for this crowd... the nose is no longer glowing.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Bello being replaced by Smoak for defensive purposes mid game?
big dog Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Graham gave Cola a pitch that was inside and very high, and the look Cola gave him? "How dare you." From Cola. Chris Freakin Colabello. Chris "I Own Home Plate" Colabello.I saw that one- I thought it was just a curve ball that got away. Agreed, Cola looked like he thought he was low-bridged. Should have gone inside again, on purpose. I lived near Oakland when McGwire was a rookie. For years, he'd look at a high inside curve ball and duck his head over the plate and get hit when it dropped. Then he'd get hacked off, like someone was trying to headhunt with a pitch that was a borderline strike. What a doofus.
bird Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 If you're a major league pitcher...say a right handed one...would you rather face Shane Robinson, or Oswaldo Arcia? Yes. Both please. Pretty please.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 No the premise was to get Hermann some work, the suggestion as a thread starter of bring up Fryer was the worst call ever. I get three lashes for starting that thread. Yeah but the lashes are suspended because you have shown the court remorse for your actions. Damn... I look great in this robe!!!
big dog Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 oh, and-- Boyer! Boyer! Boyer! Boyer! At least he's not showing fear.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Yeah... The Bleeding has stopped... Or... for this crowd... the nose is no longer glowing. I wonder if any bullpen has developed first aid related nick names?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 oh, and-- Boyer! Boyer! Boyer! Boyer! At least he's not showing fear.I think he might have soiled himself when Tulo sent that screamer directly at Hicks.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 http://twinsdaily.com/topic/9010-the-twins-dfa-liam-hendriks/ Less teeth gnashing than I remember in the Hendriks DFA thread. We must have been full of holiday spirit. Interesting that there were lots of folks questioning why Hendriks was DFA'd (with an option remaining no less) instead of, dun dun dun Eric Fryer.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Funny... It hadn't occurred to me that "strikes out" is both transitive and intransitive.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Funny... It hadn't occurred to me that "strikes out" is both transitive and intransitive. I had to look up what transitive meant. I was surprised when the definition didn't mention Bruce Jenner at all.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Jepsen is wild, like TR said. He's also not that good.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 When we traded for Jepsen... I didn't hear the Troggs playing in the background.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Jepsen is wild, like TR said. He's also not that good.I think TR said he was effectively wild. I guess no runs is effective.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Is he really the best Teflon Terry could find?

I get three lashes for starting that thread. Not the worst call ever, friend. Not even close. Have you met vodkadave? However, earlier this thread, you were asking for Herrmann back, with the implication he'd be better than last time. THAT, my friend...
ashbury Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 More than when he was DFA'd?! Were you gone that month?Yeah, he was Real Solid Gone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbPiyVal8lc
