The line-ups: ROYALS:Escobar (Alcides) SSMoustakas 3BCain CFHosmer 1BMorales DHGordon LFPerez CInfante 2BDyson RF Volquez P TWINS:Santana SSHunter RFMauer 1BDozier 2BVargas DHPlouffe 3BArcia LFSuzuki CSchafer CF Gibson P Can a mod please add these, I will be at church when they are announced! Thanks. (Edit from Chi: yes) 1st pitch Weather: 65 degrees, 0% chance of rain, and winds will be blowing SE at 13 MPH Things to think about: 1.) Kyle Gibson - Gibson has had some up's and downs in the major leagues. After debuting in 2013 the Twins organization and fans knew they had something special in Gibson. 2014 was Kyle's first full year and it went pretty good. Starting 31 games is good for a pitcher no matter who it is. The big problem here is he only threw 180 innings. Yes, he isn't the #1 starter, and nor should he be. However, if the Twins want to be successful we need our pitchers to throw more innings. That has not happened this year, but maybe tonight will be the turning point for Gibson and the Twins. 2.) Defense - You know how the old saying goes. Offense wins games, defense wins championship. Well so far for the Twins, neither has really happened, but lets focus on the defense. Most of us on TD expect the Twins offense to heat up as the weather does, but the defense is another story. We knew that we were not going to be great on this side of the field, but there is no excuse for your left fielder, or shortstop to drop pop-fly's. If I wanted to see that I can always go sit at a little league game for 2 hours of my life. I for one, am not sure who's fault it is. I'm sure the coaching staff has addressed this, and hopefully we will see a turn around in the near future. 3.) Jackie Robinson - Today is the day that all of MLB will wear the number 42. Jackie was one of the most important people in baseball, and sports that we have ever had. I'm glad the MLB recognizes this fact, and resects the man like they do. He also had many other first. Some of those include war veteran, first black sports analysts, and the first black to make the hall of fame. Happy Jackie Robinson day! 4.) Brats - Brats. Just thinking about them makes me hungry. Perhaps one of the most underrated meats at ballparks is the brat. They are defiantly better than hot dogs, and give me a brat over a hamburger every day of the week. I would love to see the brat become more popular across major league baseball, but instead were making things like the donut burger. Share below what your favorite ball park food is, and Go Twins!

Never underestimate they intelligence and capabilities of the TD staff. It is possible that they have figured out to go back in time in order to go back and fix some of the Twins' mistakes. The time traveling license discussion on a previous game thread now makes sense.

(Or 1 Pelfrey inning)

Can I borrow that time machine? I've always wanted to be in the "Thriller" video.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I know the game is roughly 3 hours away, but maybe by loading this Rally Picture now, it will have some time to gain some needed steam and the Gods of the Internet will channel this energy into the Twins Players - giving them the ability to pillage, humiliate and destroy the Royals this fine evening. Enter "The Rally Roger"

BK432 Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I know there are much more pressing issues facing this club, but how Dozier and now Hunter have at-bats in the #2 slot but Joe Mauer, the most #2 hitter in the history of baseball, has none, is beyond me.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 This may be the only thread on the site that has not seen IQ regression to the mean. By "mean", do you mean... 1. Average? 2. Base? 3. Cruel? And more importantly, should i be trying to raise it or lower it (the IQ of this thread)?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I don't care so much about Mauer hitting second instead of third. I care about taking a guy who's hitting .130, with one walk and zero XBH, and moving him UP in the lineup. Anyone who can explain that to me is a better person than I. I know there are much more pressing issues facing this club, but how Dozier and now Hunter have at-bats in the #2 slot but Joe Mauer, the most #2 hitter in the history of baseball, has none, is beyond me.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 My lowly hope tonight is that the game is played at a level slightly above little league. Baby steps!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 On another note, how about some fun bets that are depressing at the same time! Which side are you on? Which will be greater... # of Twins hits, or # of KC runs# of K's by Twins pitchers, or # of XBH's by KC hitters# of walks by Twins batters, or # of errors by Twins fielders# of Twins runs, or # of KC home runs# of Twins hits, or # of IP by Kyle Gibson
