Don't have a catchy nickname for Carrol like Butera, but given the return for Butera, I nice snarky poll is just what we need to pry Ventura away from Dayton Moore.

I voted for a relief pitching prospect for Butera. That obviously was low. Assuming a similar return, I'd guess Sam Selman or maybe Orlando Calixte, but that seems like a high price to pay for Carroll. Either way, this might be fun.

It was reported that the PTBNL is CASH$$$. But maybe only 20K.

Where did you see this? I've only seen PTBNL or cash.

I would have thought that they would get a player out of it, but I'm not sure how great that player will be. I voted for org filler, but I hope they at least get some sort of pitching prospect, relief or otherwise. I wouldn't expect Dayton Moore to overpay, at least not as much as Ned Colletti seems to have done with Butera.

My vote is for cash considerations, but it's more fun to try to find a player.

My player pick is Everett Teaford a left handed swingman who would take on Duensing's role but is not yet arbitration eligible. Not sure what will happen with Duensing, but I'll bet this offseason the Twins will be looking to move him. Maybe even release him.

I didn't find "Burger King coupons" anywhere as an option.

Only had 10 options, and I'm pretty sure I'd get banned for leaving off the Ralley Monkey.

I don't see that happening. Given Ryan's track record, he'd much rather pick up someone in the low minors and the Twins already have a potential Duensing Redux in Pedro Hernandez.

It was in the Sports section of the Mpls tribune.

I'm guessing Kyle Zimmer, Sean Manaea or Hunter Dozier (so we can have Dozier and Dozier up the middle). After all - Carroll is worth more than Butera.

LEN III predicted it would just be cash. But he had no supporting evidence. And he gave no specific number. So, I call BS.

Manaea would be awesome, but he can't be traded until next June.

I don't expect much. I would like to think part of this was pure respect for the pro that is Jamey Carroll. He seems to have the makings of a great coach and I would like to see him back with the organization when he is done playing. Hopefully, the roster spot will be used creatively and I would be thrilled with an A baller with the potential to be a ML level player similar to the Butera trade. However, I have a sense it will be cash or an organizational filler.

I think the Twins made this move for three reasons. Not necessarily in this order.

1. Open a roster spot.

2. Financial considerations

3. Respect - Give Mr. Carroll an opportunity at post season play in what is likely his final year.

I'd prefer the low minors as well. Pedro Hernandez was actually my insperation for my search of a AAAA pitcher. I disliked the waste of a 40-man roster spot last year and I would also dislike the waste of the 40-man roster spot this year.

I suppose even post-hype John Lamb would be a pipedream? How about Christian Colon...is that feasible?
Lamb was just promoted to AAA so that might be a really good get.

I wonder if this had any bearing into the Carroll trade. It might mean that KC was desperate too.

I hope it did - might mean we actually got something, if they were more motivated to do a deal than we were.

I know for a fact that I have breaking news on who the Twins will be receiving for Carroll. The Twins will not be getting cash in the deal they will be acquiring another infielder in return for Carroll. The PTBNL is Miguel Tejada...

I'm guessing this is sarcasm. No reason TR would do that deal.

Luke Hochevar - They've run out of patience

That might be one of those diamonds in the rough that Levi was talking about taking. Flip side though is that he's 29 and will be a FA soon.

I'm guessing "the Carroll Return" occurs during spring training, 2014, after TR signs him as a free agent.
