It's not cut and dried. The unofficial  official rule of thumb is, a play not made requiring "ordinary effort" is an error.

Another unofficial official rule of thumb is, not touched= no error.

These are the guidelines MLB gives to official scorers.

Guidelines or rules? He said it’s a rule that you have to touch the ball to be charged an error. It’s simply untrue,

Explain to me how a marginal prospect like Ross could have spent years in the minors and only be called on to bunt twice in his career.  Now when it's needed he can't do it.  Failure of coaching and prepping.

How couldn’t Jeffers see nobody was at second, Morneau? He looked both ways. He was just froze like watching those called 3 rd strikes!

I got Double Vision somewhere on the shelf beneath the turntable.

Good to see someone else has a turntable.  I have to get a new cassette deck in the near future.  The one I got in 1985 is dieing.

What difference would it have made?

Nothing in the sense that Jeffers didn't advance to third.  Could have made a difference if Jeffers was too far off of 2nd.  Although I am a but surprised that Wheels Jackson isn't running for Jeffers.  Isn't that why we have Jackson?

If a ball goes right through a fielders legs is it a hit if he never got a glove on it?

He was asked to sacrifice Jeffers to 3rd. From wence Jeffers can score 7 different ways with one out.

Hate hate hated those things.  Having a song fade out then start up was a real design brainfart.
