Yep, that only compounds the frustration.

The implosion by Prielipp in the fifth sucked. Total loss of concentration - control. I wonder if that happens if he has a 2-1 lead vs a seemingly immobile zero on the board for our offense.

Demand perfection.. expect implosion.

Was at the game Saturday night.  Goodbye crowd over 29,000.  It probably wouldn't have male a difference but Shelton may have messed up the bullpen fir Sunday.  That is IF the game in close.  Using some of your better bullpen arms to mop up an already one sided losing game seems counter productive.  Nice pre game video salute to ex twin and current Phillies closer Duran.  As i said attendance the time and i still say the Twins have up too much to acquire Hoffman.

Twins should have been Sellers not buyers. Twins are not a playoff team. They could have made the future brighter.

Honestly how many more prospects do you want.  At some point you have to develop these prospects in to players in the major leagues either by promotion or trade.  And except for a few pitchers, we have not done this.  This organization has very little faith in our minor league on the position side and is reluctant to call up anyone unless forced to by circumstances.  Just getting more prospects isn't going to help this team this year or 2028 and beyond if they don't change how they operate.

Kriedler with his three strikeouts got his first action of the season at 2B today.   The way he started this year it looked like he could be the next Kody Clemens, but his last 30 games show him hitting worse than his horrible career MLB stats.  We are clearly in trouble now at 2B if he is getting a start.

Morissette in St Paul has started over 40 games without an error at 2B.  Ben Ross has been floated as an overlooked infielder.  Both have hit well.

Dang it, even with this ugly loss we are still only a half game away from making the playoffs.  Please tell me we can do better than Kriedler at 2B if Clemens cannot start there for some reason.  We already have proof that Keaschall and Lewis can't handle the position.  Please find someone that can.

Well Lewis has only played there when they want Caratini at 1B, currently that is not his position and he has been ok there.  They really need to call up Jenkins and play Keaschall there a few games a week with Clemens.  Then figure out the position over the offseason.

What does it take for the FO to have enough with Kriedler, Martin, Roden, Caratini?  OPS+ - 82, 95, 75, 85

Make some changes. And let the team know that it is okay if they get their record above 500.

Kreidler and Roden are two easy moves that can be made.  Call up Jenkins and Sabato to play against lefties.  Lee can spell Culpepper at short or even call up Ross instead of Sabato.

Martin has looked better and right now he is only going to start against lefties.  They made their choice on Friday with Caratini, what I am waiting to see if they really are going to go with him as their top catcher next year.  That could be a disaster because he is not going to duplicate his June again.

Finding a second baseman would be my offseason priority

The trade deadline is over and there are no saviors in AAA. Most teams have players with below average bats and above average gloves sitting on the bench. Caratini and Roden didn’t even play today so I’m not sure how this loss is their fault.

I used to work in a restaurant when I was much much younger. The manager was perpetually 'hiring' but to us employees who were always short staffed she was merely 'collecting resumes'. We finally concluded she merely liked the attention, being called and recalled, and being in charge of a decision that never got made.

Not sure exactly how this relates, but the situation reminds me of the Twins trading process today.

The Board chatter has KC sliding to second when Houston arrives. Not Imminent and not Definite.

That sounds like a plan for 2028, what about 2027?

Houston could be up next year. Other teams have done that. I would.

That still leaves Kreidler as the backup. It would be okay to have three talented up the middle infielders on the roster. That’s not against the rules.

Well, maybe. But hindsight's 20/20.

To be clear, I do not think the Twins are a very good team. Every time I see the "how many games do you think the Twins will win this year" question, I go with 76-80. Even when they've hit the rarefied air of a .500 record.

As a fan, though, I'm not necessarily logical. I did not want them to sell.

There isn't a single person here that thought this team would be in the position it's in at the start of the season. You all wanted the rebuild to start in April and now that they still have a chance it's bring up this guy or that guy. They brought Culpepper up and he hasn't set the offense on fire. The 1st of September is just around the corner and they will add Jenkins and a pitcher. And then again Buxton will probably be on the IL,because I think he just wanted to play the game in Iowa. Which ever team ends up being the 3rd WC in the AL or the NL has 0 chance in the playoffs.

….look on the bright side, we are still one of seven teams battling for the last wild card spot (and they all stink).

May the least stinky of the 7 stinkies prevail👍

Twins fans infatuation with garbage players like Kreidler is embarrassing...

Houston won't be up until 2029 at the earliest, he will need to have an OPS of at least .990 and show he can hit 25 HR's before he will be deemed ready.

We should try and upgrade over Kreidler for an utility infielder, his defense is not enough to compensate for his bat.

Pleaded - begged - rationalized that the Club go after Arraez, HARD. Wanted him to protect Buxton or Jeffers or Lewis by hitting 3,4,or 5.

Last 7 games 3 - 3 - 2 - 1 - 1 runs in 5 of the games. Bullpen is certainly at a point of reasonable respectability after deadline. Six guys that can get batters out, generally. Rogers & Adams can give them innings when trailing.

Needed a consistent contributor on the offensive side. …..hoping Buxton or Lewis (talented guys) are going to be good (Bell) consistently is “wishful, blue sky thinking”!

Appreciate the post.  One quibble: hindsight was not necessary to see this team for what it was.
