Yes.  I think with how Houston is playing he has an outside chance at being the starting SS to start the season if not if he has a strong performance  in AAA up by June if no lockout.

Lee’ body language is so depressing these days. No spark at all. And the super slow walks back to the dugout. He needs some Red Bull or something.

I want to see Culpepper the everyday SS for a while in 2026. The other pieces of the puzzle depend on if it’s a September callup, a DFA (such as going down to 2 catchers) or injury. If I had my druthers Kreidler would be on the bench and Lee play third (in 2026)

edit: reading back through the thread. Agreed, Houston isn’t coming up in 2026. Soonest 2half 2027. That would be an awesome problem to have. Step 1, stop carrying 3 catchers. Step 2, Houston if Houston gets to the bigs that fast it’s because he’s THE shortstop. Play him there and give KC run at 3b
