Zak Kent claimed by the Nationals and the Mets DFA'd Eric Wagaman.

The Mets did that to select Vidal Brujan, who was a Twin for a very short amount of time. Ironic.

... after zero games in the majors while briefly on their 40-man.  DFAs should revert to the previous team.

Old friend Chris Paddack DFA’d by the Marlins

Ha, came here to post this too.

Most of the Twins Paddack experience was not great, but the MLBTR article does underline that he’s rarely been tried in short relief and he’s done well in that limited experience. Worth a call if he clears waivers?

Gosh, I am aging and too slow. 3rd place to post Paddack..

Good for the bronze medal though; not the 4th.

At least now we're paying him NOT to play for another team.

It sucks that injuries are going to derail what was once a potential HOF career… Deep down we all knew his ankle and plantar fasciitis problems were a ticking time bomb. I’m glad we got out while we could.

Trevor Richards traded tothe White Sox.

Is it crazy to wonder if Paddack could be an effective bullpen arm? He was effective in that role in. 2023 coming back from TJ surgery.

He seems like a good candidate to make a successful transition from starter to reliever.

Man, I need to read these posts more often. I had no idea that Twins had even let Wagaman go, not to mention Kent too. Eh, no great loss, but I'm still shocked at how fast these DFA'd players come and go.

Brock Stewart back on the IL for the Dodgers.

Speaking of ex-Twins on the Dodgers, what's the status on Graterol this season? Is he healthy and pitching again?

I wouldn't mind seeing the Twins try and give Paddack a try out of the bullpen since we are still trying to develop a pecking order in the bullpen. As a short inning reliever I think his stuff would play effectively in the AL central.

IIRC Paddack when went out of his way claiming the facilities, coaching staff, and food with the Tigers was better than the Twins when we traded him there. I think that ship has sailed.

I didn't see that he had done that. Thanks for the clarification Vanimal46!

Man, oh man. Glad I didn't take my bet to the net.

I believe the Marlins are on the hook for most of his salary and the Reds will only have to pay a prorated league minimum salary.

FWIW- The Reds rotation is banged up.  Greene and Williamson are on the 60 day-IL.  Lowder is on the 15-day IL.  Singer will probably need an IL stint.  Their in-house options (Petty, Franco, and Aguiar) are all getting beat up at AAA.

Of course, 78-yr old brain fart.
