As many others, I think the Twins should trade Jeffers. Do we really think we can get Lombard, Elmer Rodriguez, or LaGrange for 2 months of Jeffers? I understand Jeffers will probably the best catcher available at the deadline, but I just don't think that's realistic... Lombard's prospect status is in the realm of Jenkins, not quite as high as Jenkins but similar. Would anyone trade Jenkins for a 2 month rental? I am sure the answer is no. We are really looking prospects in that #10 range in most systems. I am all for aiming high, but realistically if we can get 2 prospects, one in the 6-10 range in most systems, it would be a pretty good return.

Video: It's Time To Option Luke Keaschall To Triple-A
Chembry replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Keaschall quietly had a good May and start to June. Here is his stat line since May 1st: .281/.385/.359/.744/13.9% K-rate/11.4% BB rate/ 114 WRC+ He isn't hitting for much power (6 2Bs and 1 3B) and we really aren't expecting him to, but he has been getting on base lately. Personally, I would like to see more 2Bs, but as long as he gets on base he can create runs with his speed and base stealing ability. His .385 OBP in that timeframe puts him a 21st in MLB of all qualified hitters. -
He hasn't pitched since the 2024 playoffs and just underwent another surgery, this time it's back surgery. Even in 2024, he only pitched 7.1 innings. He has pitched well but, just can't stay on the field. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/06/brusdar-graterol-back-surgery-dodgers.html

Prospect Panic Meter: Emmanuel Rodriguez
Chembry replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I can try to shed some light. A significant part of his profile is swing and miss. His K rates from 2021 - 2026 are: 36.6%, 26.1%, 29.4%, 29.6%, 31.8%, and 28.7% respectively. His in zone contact rate has always been suspect (21st percentile in 2026 at 76.4%, 11th percentile in 2025 at 73.1%, and 14th percentile in 2024). Emma is a passive hitter who doesn't chase and walks a ton (BB rates as high as 21%), but also has very low swing percentages (as low as the 8th percentile in AAA). All that is to say, he strikes out quite a bit because he is passive and gets behind in counts, but also walks a ton because he doesn't chase. One thing Emma does really well is when he makes contact, he hits the ball very hard, as evidenced from his barrel%, hard hit%, and exit velocities (see the graphics below). The walks and hard hits lead to those OPS numbers you quoted. However, Ks/swing and miss will be the determining factor if Emma can reach his ceiling. I have high hopes as I love watching him play. He is fun to watch. -
This was a mailbag question at MLBTR. Someone asked if there is any hope that Buxton will roam the outfield of Truist Park. Dierkes response was: Buxton, who has a full NTC and 10/5 rights, has been adamant about being a Twin for life and stated that publicly many times. Buxton did express frustration that the Twins themselves didn't shut down trade rumors. He went on to say that Buxton "may" listen on teams if Ryan and Jeffers are traded (this was written before Jeffers got hurt). Of course, Buxton would be a good fit for the Braves, but he would also help a myriad of other teams. The overall tone of Dierkes response is that it's highly unlikely Buxton moves anywhere. Dierkes didn't suggest any trades to any team. All MLBTR writers, within the past 6 months, have taken the stance that the likelihood of a Buxton trade is very small.

Daiber De Los Santos apparently was suspended. Do we know why yet? He was off to a pretty nice start to the FCL season.

Not necessarily...UCL thumb injuries typically return to action in 8 weeks. That would put him back in action sometime around end of July. This study showed a mean return at 8 weeks with no meaningful differences in performance. However, that doesn't account if the Twins will call him up or not though so your statement may still be correct. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5757434/ Edit: https://www.espn.com/fantasy/baseball/story/_/id/19513187/mlb-mike-trout-thumb-procedure-recovery-process This is another article showing Andrelton Simmons and Mike Trout undergoing UCL surgery in their thumb. It states a return to unrestricted baseball activities is possible within 4 weeks.

Injury update on ERod is he tore the UCL in his thumb and is set for surgery this week. Initial MRI showed only a sprain due to swelling, but second MRI showed torn UCL.

I was watching as well. He got hit flush by a 94mph fastball. I think a big reason he stayed in the game is he was only running, but the Saints only had 1 guy on the bench and that was David Banuelos. Hoping it's only a bruise but it sounded brutal.

As others have said no we won't face Miz. He pitched yesterday, but was removed while warming up for the 8th inning due to quad cramps. -
Former Twins. Where are They Now? 2026 Edition
Chembry replied to stringer bell's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I believe the Marlins are on the hook for most of his salary and the Reds will only have to pay a prorated league minimum salary. FWIW- The Reds rotation is banged up. Greene and Williamson are on the 60 day-IL. Lowder is on the 15-day IL. Singer will probably need an IL stint. Their in-house options (Petty, Franco, and Aguiar) are all getting beat up at AAA.- 233 replies

Lou Trivino and Tom Kahnle are available now to help the bullpen
Chembry replied to darin617's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Lou Trivino signed with the Orioles yesterday and pitched for them last night. His line was 0.2IP, 6ER, 4H, 3BB, 0K. Rough first outing with them... -
TOS describes a wide range of nerve related conditions. Wheeler required surgery for TOS. Festa's TOS was on the "milder end" and thought it could be treated with Botox injections. However, it was reported earlier this year that the shoulder issue he is currently facing is different than TOS. Only time will tell.

When will we start seeing changed to MLB Roster?
Chembry replied to jaimedude's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I am not sure it was reported here, but Festa suffered another setback. He reported more shoulder discomfort after facing live hitters Saturday. This really isn't good news for him and his hopes for the 2026 season. -
Jeff Passan sits down with John Schneider and Dave Roberts to discuss the 2025 World Series. If you are interested, I would suggest listening to this, it's fantastic. One thing that John Schneider said was during the 18 inning game 3 marathon, they intentionally walked Ohtani 4 times. It was partly due to the Jays not wanting Ohtani to beat them with his bat in extra innings, but also they wanted to tire him out because he was pitching the next day...and Roberts confirmed that it worked. Even after IVs etc..., Ohtani was still cramping up. I love the games within the games. Edit: Louie Varland gets wonderful compliments from both Schneider and Roberts.
