glunn Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 There should be a parade on the day that the Pohlads are out. h2oface, Riverbrian, USAFChief and 3 others 2 4
Nshore Verified Member Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 It's worth remembering that Buxton often looked totally overmatched as a hitter early in his career, and many fans wanted him gone. It's the nature of the game for some players to take giant steps forward as they mature. That's why I still have some confidence that players like Lee and Lewis are going to be a lot better than we think. gman, IndianaTwin, glunn and 1 other 4

LastOnePicked Verified Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Beautifully written, but there is no "core" here. There is literally nothing to build a championship on. It may happen in the distant future, but none of the players on this year's roster will be involved. There is no championship foundation here at this point. It will take a decade of disastrous records and can't miss draft positions to put this team in position to win. And even then, they'll need an all-new coaching staff at all levels. This team is probably the farthest in all of MLB from a contention window. NotAboutWinning 1
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I believe there are many reasons for parades - circuses, holidays, championships....maybe even the Pohlads leaving town - we could all participate in that parade. h2oface 1
SF Twins Fan Verified Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 What I don't understand is, why is it taking so long to announce the two minority buyers? I believe it was early August, when the Poohlands announced they weren't going to sell and the minority owners would be announced in a few weeks. Well it's now been a month and a half and no information. Have they not been approved by the MLB? Have the backed out? glunn 1

Ownership will have to change to direct the ship on a course for a championship. If that doesn’t happen I hate to tell you but more seasons like this last one are in the future. “Right sizing” the payroll will continue next season and beyond. Feels like you weren't a Twins fan in the 70s. glunn and gman 2

I think that the Twins would probably win the World Series in at least 5 of the next 10 years IF the only other teams in the league were the White Sox, the Nationals, the Rockies, Sacramento and the Pirates. It seems clear to me that at least a few organizations are worse. Riverbrian 1
AceBee Verified Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 (edited) Twins finished forth worst in the league and lost season series to all 3 teams below them in the standings ! That should tell the story 🤦♂️ Edited September 29, 2025 by AceBee typo NotAboutWinning and RpR 2

It was announced the Rays were sold in July and it didn’t get approved until yesterday. I think it just takes awhile
