I think they probably could start in Minnesota, but the Twins targeted them for a reason, and I suspect they're working on new pitches, new grips, pitch selection, or all of the above.

Let's just say I was not a fan. Also, work on it against the guys they actually need to get out. But they'll sit in AAA all year. Really want falvey gone. I'm salty this morning I guess. Could be the heat. Could be so the stuff.

What??  They should be promoted immediately so Twins Daily can see “what they got”!

I'm also not a fan of many of the deals (some were fine), but now that they're here, they should be handled appropriately so I'll be patient and see what comes of it.

I'd have just called up Andrew Morris to give him his perfunctory look at the rotation so they can start his inevitable Sands/Varland/Jax bullpen conversion next year.

If they really are working on things that can't be worked on in the majors for some reason, then fine.  But I feel like service time manipulation has some role in this decision, and if it does, that sucks.

I know it's probably as likely as Rob Manfred and Bryce Harper enjoying a nice family vacation together, but I hope anything that disincentivizes teams from putting their 26 best available players on the active roster gets exterminated in the next CBA.   You don't hear about NFL teams keeping guys on the practice squad or NBA teams keeping guys in the G League to squeeze out more control on a technicality.  Anticompetitive behaviors like this have to go if players are ever going bend on a salary cap

Also an option.

Make free agency age related as a start. 26 or 28 or five years in the system, whichever comes first. I have zero interest in a cap. That just puts money in billionaires pockets.

I have an expectancy of losing today. No different than walking into a Las Vegas casino with a $100 bill and planning on winning a $1,000 or go bust.

The Yankees are better than the Twins. Other than Buxton they are better in every position on the field.

The Yankees are Macy's and the Twins are Target. The difference in quality is obvious.

I hope we win today........

There are so many solutions. A cap and floor, what you presented here, or even just starting arbitration in year two of a player's career. Lots of ways to make baseball better.

Yeah, pegging it to a fixed time period like Rule V eligibility is the most straightforward way I can think of to fix that issue.   I don't think I fully agree on the cap, because I think a floor is needed to create competitive balance as much as a cap (I think the Pirates of the world are as responsible for the competitive imbalance in baseball as the Dodgers - okay not as responsible, but definitely don't get the level of blame they deserve), and you don't get a floor without a cap

Well I've never seen Gasper catch, but I've seen him hit. He's of no use to a major league club unless he unexpectedly CAN catch, so sure, go ahead and give it a try, this club has nothing to lose anyway.

How about using one of the actual catchers in AAA? That would be my preference.

Do you mean the guy who made his first start since June 19 this past Saturday and threw only 31 pitches? That's not how rehab assignments are usually structured.

Agreed. I'm guessing we also see more back-to-backs from Jeffers until (if) Vazquez returns.

Since I want wholesale changes to the front office and coaching staff next year, honestly, I'm in favor of pretty much any move that makes them look foolish.

He caught Sunday. Did ok behind the plate but not so much with the throws.

On the other hand, glad Wallner is back. He's been taking much better ABs for a while now

Slugger's big daddy. We need a daddy in the Bronx.

So our backup catcher is Gasper? God help us.

I wonder how life threatening the infection really was to Vasquez.. it's not to be trifled with.
