He also normally doesn't have his best starter still going with 79 pitches entering the ninth.  i think that's relevant to the decision

Yeah, I’d think this possibility was in play when they started another starter for the suspended game

Correa back on Friday I think. Fitz goes down.   Wallner back on Monday possibly.  Hopefully Buxton before too long.   Who goes?  Probably no room for Bride.   McCusker goes as well?

I'm still concerned about Joe's velocity. Guess they're not.

It's only 43 degrees and wet out. Joe was fine against Milwaukee on Saturday. I get concern but today's game I wouldn't put much thought in it.

Ah...no.

Rocco uses his closer every single time with a 3 run lead or less.

But not today?

Besides, he already had him up and warming.

Win the game in front of you.

Rocco can be a magician at stupidity ,  yes I never thought Ryan would start the ninth with Duran warming up ...

We ended up winning the hard way , is Clemens a keeper? , he has 3 or more go ahead or winning hits in a small sample size  , can't complain about bride getting 3 hits either  ...

Fitz, McCusker and I am thinking maybe Kiersey.  Clemens and Bride have some defensive flexibility with the OF of Buxton, Bader, Larnach and Wallner with Castro and Clemens as options.   Bride is a better hitter than Kiersey

Amazing h-t-h stats! That's certainly how it has felt of late, glad to know I havent been hallucinating.  These devils just refuse to die in the late innings. Detroit seems to have that mojo this year as well. 18-3 in one-run games is astounding.

But, nice to turn the tables today!

Rocco needs to blow this up and hang it in the Dugout
