This is on ownership but also on Falvey. His inaction at the trade deadline was inexcusable and it was not about $$. It was about refusing to part with prospects.

I want to see what character these guys have, especially our “stars”.

I think that has been seen already.

I’m honestly wondering what it would take for me to be optimistic going into next March, enough to get me to buy tickets, pay crazy high food/drink prices at the stadium, buy a replica jersey for my grandkids, etc.

I’m struggling.

prepare to be disappointed even further if they can't iron out a new long term tv / media streaming contract as in slashing payroll down further by another 15-20 million.

If ownership is the root of all problems then why is Cleveland in the position they're in with ~75% of the Twins payroll? The players and the manager suck, that's the answer.

Royals and Tigers have fire and an edge and seem like teams that reflect their managers. Twins have Rocco and a collection of strangers.

Breakdown for Royals, Twins & Tigers over last 10, 20 & 30 games (before today's games):

Royals: 4-6, 7-13, & 14-16

Twins: 4-6, 8-12 & 11-19

Tigers: 8-2, 13-7, & 21-9 (including a 3 game sweep of KC and 2/3 from Baltimore)

While the Twins have collapsed, the Royals have not taken advantage and significantly increased their WC lead, but I did not see Detroit maintaining this type of play over the last month+. Detroit may pass both teams....

Rocco's been the Twins' manager since 2019. 6 years is a long time in professional sports and managers / head coaches usually reach their shelf life after 5 years.

The 2019 season was a fluke. The Bomba Squad. We won't see that kind of Twins' offense again anytime soon.

2020 was also a fluke because of the pandemic but the White Sox lost the division more than the Twins won it. Epic collapse from the pale hose.

2021 was a cluster.

2022 was another cluster that saw the team finish 10 games over the month of the season. Built-in excuse though - 'injuries'.

2023 saw the Twins make the playoffs thanks to being in a weak division.

He's not the answer. Hasn't been the answer. He needs to go.

And only by the fortunate dealings of Pablo and Joe Ryan (with a timely pickoff) and a still-scalding Royce Lewis did the postseason streak finally disappear.  He has never shown a feel for the game in his 6 years and relies FAR too much on numbers.  I said after the locker room blowup a couple weeks ago that you would be able to tell exactly what the players thought of him by the way they responded on the field.  Now we've seen it.  The players know and the players have a feel for the game and while they'd never publicly voice their disagreement with a manager's move (players play, managers manage, etc), I'm sure there's chatter in private circles outside the clubhouse between the players, especially the veterans, that they don't support a lot of the things Rocco does during a game.

I'm about done with the team as a whole at this point. And I am a die hard who does not give up until mathematically eliminated but this team stinks more than Pepe LaPew at this time with no change in sight. I'm convinced if they played the White Sox now they'd lose every game.

They will slash payroll anyways. Tv deal or not. I can see them using attendance as an excuse.

The way they lost 3 winnable games this series says it all. When it was crunch time they simply choked away all 3. Bullpen was a mess. Strikeouts and weak AB'S with RISP when it counted most. Poor plate approach. Not playing for each other. Same script every game. How does anyone believe this will change with 9 games left. Only hope IMO is for KC to continue their freefall.. Detroit won't be catchable by weeks end.

So last year we win the "weakest" division in baseball by a handful games.  Now the "weakest" division in baseball is now the "toughest" division as we have 4 teams fighting for now 3 spots in postseason.  O's crap the bed and you may see 4 teams get in from "weakest" division in baseball.  Did I mention the Weakest division in baseball?

Payroll, lack of moves off-season/deadline and t.v. contract have an impact but leadership drives the bus.  Rocco doesn't have that quality and guys can only hold each other accountable for so long.  We've blown a few tires and have no spares left to stay on playoff road.

Total system failure.

The ownership of this organization has been the issue for years. When the Twins have won, it has been in spite of the morons in the front office.
