It's what they ASK for.

They don't prepare their minor league pitchers for a major league workload. SWR has been in the minors since 2018 and has a high of 113 IP prior to this season. Max of 22 starts as a Twins minor leaguer. Rarely more than 5 innings in a start.

Then they call him up and expect him to pitch a major league season, and are shocked to learn he's not prepared.

11 minor league pitchers pitched more than 120 innings this year. This isn't a Twins' thing at all, it's a baseball thing.

I question this stat.

Here's the 2023 minor league IP leaders:

That's 10 over 140 and they cut the list off there. It also ignores combined totals from any pitcher called up.

In any case, I don't GAF what others are doing. I care what the Twins do.

Small ball and fundamentals aren't important to the Twins. They'll just sit back and wait for the homerun and when that doesn't work, they'll pin their hopes on a rancid sausage gimmick.

They literally have no consistent home run threats… yet this is the team philosophy.. They should have been. 20-23 games over .500, but the refusal to attempt to utilize some small ball, I would argue sound fundamentals in plate approaches, has sank the season. So many flawed game plans utilized by the manager makes this team not watchable unless they are hitting the home run.

Did not look like Buxton went hard after that ball.....and don't tell me he's hurt.  He can go 100 mph beating out an infield single, but appeared to nonchalant that ball....

When there's zero accountability from the manager, this is what happens.

It was obvious Buxton isn't really ready to play the other night when he BACKED OFF a fliner from Ramirez that ended up bouncing 10 feet in front of him.

Just got home and I see the prevent offense seems to be working fine. Haven't even seen who's in the lineup.  Only down 1-0. Did I miss anything?

Guardians are definitely the better team here. Not surprising they’re way in front in the division. Probably also will be destroyed by the Yankees.

Wouldnt be sure about that

Every player with speed  in cleveland lineup , Knows with 2 out they have a green light to put pressure on other teams,  been doing it all year , and shows how un-prepared Twins are,    Twins run Scared !!

Provus asks if in these last 9 games, should Rocco just go with the best hitters regardless of what hand the pitcher throws with.  This was in regards to Farmer getting another hit.

HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOING WITH THE BEST HITTERS REGARDLESS WEEKS AGO!!

I know we hate short starts, but SWR is throwing everything up there but the kitchen sink.  I'm predicting an implosion is going to happen soon.  There needs to be at least someone getting loose.  The slider ain't sliding (he's gotten away with some) , the FB is 91 and the curve is starting to bounce.  Hope I'm wrong....
