Wow, that's a surprise ... or then again, maybe not so crazy. It's only a minor league deal, plus he had that one good year with the Braves, so it would be fun to see him come back up there again. Good luck to him!

Haven't heard much here about Trevor Megill, His 2022 with the Twins was 45 IP, ERA of4.80, WHIP of 1.489, and FIP of 3.29.

Currently doing very well with the Brewers:

29.1 IP, 1.53 ERA (ERA+ 273), WHIP 0.99, FIP 2.05.

Congrats to him!

I was shocked when I saw that on Baseball Reference, I thought at first that was his brother Tylor but no, Trevor is back and putting up insane numbers. The Brewers have some magicians in their pitching staff.

I mean when you lose your roster spot to the albatross that's Rendon it's all but over.

Sad but true. He may want to consider a pro league in Mexico or Asia. He could sell out for the HR in a lower level league and hit 40-50 of them.

He was always more of the crafty type, working with that low velocity. His velocity and movement look to be the same, I wonder what changed with him.

Long time Twins farmhand Bryan Sammons has been called up by the Tigers and is finally getting his major league debut.

He always put up some intriguing numbers for a non-top prospect, particularly in the strikeout department, but his last two years in the Twins system did not go well. Looks like he went to Indy ball after getting released by the Twins before catching on with the Tigers last year. The Twins are done with the Tigers this year so congrats and good luck!

.608 OPS in 95 PAs. Time is running out for him.

Any updates on Sano this week? He was looking decent for the Angels earlier this year before that rather bizarre injury. If he's healthy and in shape, it would seem like some organization might take a flier on him. But yeah, as noted, he ain't a young prospect any longer.

Perez had a good first outing with the Padres. He's had a very up and down career, but still seems to get enough outs when necessary.

The Marlins are designating utilityman Nick Gordon for assignment, reports Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. Miami picked up Gordon in an offseason trade sending reliever Steven Okert to the Twins. He’s out of minor league options and thus wasn’t eligible to be sent down without first passing through waivers — which is where he’ll head now that he’s been DFA’ed and the trade deadline has passed.

Gordon has had a disappointingly mediocre year in Miami. I'm sure they Marlins expected, or at least hoped for, a lot more. Just like we did.

Former Twins pitching great Tyler Mahle returns to the mound tonight for the Rangers, who gave him a $22MM contract during the off season.

In a related note, Spencer Steer, whom was one of three players traded for Mahle, continues having a decent career for the Reds--15 HR (would be 2nd on Twins), 65 RBI (would lead the Twins) so far this season.

Brusdar Graterol likely out for the season after getting injured last night and being removed after getting just one out.

Severe hamstring injury.
