That Royce Lewis is quite good!!

With apologies to Buddy Ryan, "Better cut him.  All he does is hit grand slams."

I know, not fair to Buddy Ryan because Cris Carter had some personal issues Ryan was trying to keep private when he said "All he does is catch touchdowns."

Another Twins player dogging it to 1st base(Wallner). These guys should be called out and benched.

And there watching the Sox  play like little Leauge ,  Makes not hustling by our guys even worse,

Can anyone with a stat tracker tell me what Oberʻs historical speeds are? His fastball is averaging 90 tonight. This surprises me

Buxton is not their best player no matter how many times you say it Dick.

A healthy Buxton is better than anything the Twins have had this year. I don't know if he will ever be healthy again, but he was an All-Star last year and put up MVP numbers over a couple-month span in '21. That Byron Buxton is the Twins' best player.

I dont believe that's accurate any more with the show Lewis has been putting on.

That Buxton no longer exists.  The last few years strongly lean towards that Buxton never again existing.

We did this analysis last year, but because of Ober's extreme height and, accordingly, extended release point, he adds about 3 mph to his fastball (effectively) compared to an average sized MLB pitcher.  The ball has to travel a shorter distance from release to home plate.

I don't want to do all the math again, but you are free to try it yourself if skeptical.

Thanks for the confirmation, but I don't think anyone questioned that aspect.

As mentioned, he was an All-Star last year and put up MVP numbers the year prior. Maybe his knees went past the point of no return in the past 12 months, but I am not reaching four or five years back to say that Buxton is capable of extraordinary things.

If I am not mistaken, Ober's fastball also features a lot of life and maintains its velo pretty well. I think the true "effective" velocity is closer to 95-96mph, which is probably a big contributor to the success of his changeup.

Sorry, Rick, re-reading my post it came off a bit snarky.  Not intended that way at all.

When we did all the math last time, it got a bit "contested".

Actually, Ryan also has a later release point, which also explains why his FB plays up in velocity, too. Not as extreme as Ober, but still a difference.

Hawkins talking about how Chisox need to change the team's culture.  He mentioned about running ground balls out.  What's his thoughts on the Twins culture?   They've  failed to run out balls on at least 3 ocassions over the last week.

They need a Priest to change things over there.

Pinch hitting up 6?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And people try to argue this team cares at all about developing our young lefties and giving them experience??

Not me.  They are doing the young lefties dirty.
