You read my mind. So much to discuss in this article but my brain explodes everytime Gallo comes to the plate a strikes out like he doesn't even have a clue. You know insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. But I'm the one going insain every time I watch Gallo strike out over and over again.

If Rocco can not know that Jax is overworked for this season then he is  a bad manager, but Rocco has never had a clue on how to hande pitches.  What other team would walk in 2 runs and give up another run by hitting batter. Maybe some team in grade school, but not a pro team. What a joke. If you told someone that would be how the Twins would lose the game they would think it was a joke.

Taylor the superior fielder has 1.7 War, Joey Gallow has 0.3 WAR, Luplow has 0.0 WAR (for the season).  Why are Luplow on the team and why not Taylor.  I know we want Joey's HR threat - he has one more than Taylor.  Or we want the K record and once again he was perfect - 3 ABs - 3 Ks.

Taylor, theoretically, is a guy to specialize v. LH pitching…….has been forced into everyday role and gas probably started v. 80 RH this year. Mediocre results.

% go to Gallo v. Scherzer ….but I think the biggest reason Luplow & Gallo played was due to Taylor’s “tight hamstring” mentioned only briefly on the telecast. Seems his leg’s not right……….Might see an exchange on IL with him & Castro in next day or two.

Maybe your guy Martin by the end of the week?

I never understood picking up Luplow. There is a handful of Luplow's floating around--barely major league quality but with experience.

Luplow replaced Gallo the other night because MAT has had a tight hamstring. MAT is in the lineup today.

MAT is in the starting lineup today. Castro should be back shortly, but will go on paternity leave at some point. If Kirilloff and Buxton return by mid-September, I expect Luplow to be optioned along with a possible Gallo DFA or benching.

It's obvious that it's something that's worked on. As soon as that ball was hit Correa ran to position himself as the cutoff while Polanco went over to cover 2nd. It was a thing of beauty on that particular play.

What is worse,watching the umpires call strikes or Joey Strike Out bat? He saw 10 pitches and stroke out 3 times. And why were they swinging at the first pitch after the first inning. Scherzer was in trouble after throwing 28 pitches in the first inning. They let him back in the game by making 1 and 2 pitch outs. Lewis alone made 3 outs on 4 pitches. When a pitcher is working hard don't help him. Correa stroke out twice on pitches in LH batters box. He looked more like Sano in those at bats. Rocco gave the game away in the 9th leaving Jax in too long. Can't leave your pitcher in to implode that way. Ryan doesn't have his legs under him,fastball was 93,94 to start,down to 90,91 in 4th and 5th. Hopefully he will work on that before his next start. Ober has to go 6 or 7 today to help a weak BP today.

I wasn't surprised at the loss, just disappointed at how they lost.  Ryan was bailed out a combination of great Twins defense and Texas baserunning.  Offense only scoring 2 runs.  3 of 5 relivers failing.

Thanks, I was hoping someone would bring this up. Hoping a TD writer is capable of doing a deeper dive.

In the first inning, Ryan fastball was in the 93-95mph range, but by the third inning it was down to 90-92. When I checked his 9-inning shutout against Boston earlier this summer, Ryan was throwing 91-94 consistently right through the whole game.

If Ryan is trying to overthrow at the start of games, that is a bad sign and suggest that stop doing that please.

The Twins way of using 4 relievers at a MIN every stinking game has me at wits end.   The pen is NOT good enough to continue shoving 4 guys a night out in relief without one of them having a off night..

I swear to god Baldelli has ZERO feel for the game.

 

Gallo still being on the roster is simply horrible.

Seems as if every decision Baldelli has been wrong lately.

As amazing as Correas relay was , he still had one of the worst ab's I have EVER seen last night.
