Miguel Cabrera's last 2 games at TF, barring a miracle finish to 2023.

Miggy leads all active MLB players with 3145 hits.

Today's quiz: who are the next 5 on the list?

(Hint: Miggy is a little over 1000 hits ahead of 2nd place, but only a little more than 1100 hits ahead of 5th place.)

Off the top of my head I would throw out Joey Votto, Jose Altuve, Paul Goldschmidt and Freddie Freeman?

Gotta be a couple vets I am forgetting about that are hanging around.

That is a fair point. I thought about that but also thought about the two days off this week and that Julien is likely hungry and fighting to improve (1-3 with a walk against LH on Sunday). However, there are always discussions within a club that fans have no idea about. I guess Gallo could always go 4-4 again.

He could.  I could win the lottery tonight.  Between the two I like my chances better.

If you count his independent league stats Lew Ford has to be an answer.

Joey Votto is #1 (2nd among active players), Freddie Freeman #2 (3rd active player) on our list

I'm not sure exactly where he is, but I think Altuve is closing in on 2000 hits. Not on our 2-6 list though.

One name remains

1.(Miguel Cabrera)

2. Joey Votto 2124

3. Freddie Freeman 2061

4.

5. Nelson Cruz 2053

6. Andrew McCutchen 2033

The missing name is tough. I'd never have gotten it without cheating

I cheated and was very surprised. I will not answer for now.

I'd start Solano over Gallo 10/10 times, but to each their own. If Julien has issues with something this guy throws he's not anywhere near the hitter we hope he is. And if he's ever going to figure out whatever that possible struggle is he needs to play. Not sit behind a guy striking out at historic rates.

You may be able to find "several dozen" hitters in the division you'd take Gallo over, but I can't. But, again, to each their own.

It’s my fault. I typed out something about maybe dealing with an owie but deleted it. I guess not in time.
