...here's the evidence in MS Office default blue & orange. Through 79 games, the Twins most likely number of runs scored in a game was 2, which occurred 17% of the time. The Twins scored 2 or fewer runs in a game 36% of the time while the other 29 teams in the MLB scored 2 or fewer runs in 30% of their games.

On the other end of the scale, the Twins scored 5 or more runs in a game 37% of the time while the other 29 teams in the MLB scored 5 or more in 44% of their games.

Because the Minnesota's pitching has been decent through 79 games, the Twins actually have higher win rates at most of the run-scored per game values compared to the rest of the MLB. Too bad the offense has been so underwhelming.

The Twins FO has to let Max and Joey go immediately. Yes, that’s money lost, their fault also. Wallner deserves the spot without question. I’m also not a fan of the hitting coach as well. And the leash on Rocco is getting very short.

Not in the minds of those who control the Twins and have been around baseball for quite some time.

Can every thread not be derailed or move to cut Kepler, Gallo and/or complain about coaching?

Can people please stop pointing at the big ass elephant in the room?  To answer your question:  No. Doesn’t look like it.

Not that anyone cares, but I do not see a problem with bringing up these situations.  If were are talking about the Twins in late June of 2023, it is kind of hard to exclude these things from discussions about the team.  I mind their performance much more than I do comments about their performance.  I guess that is just me.

That said, I am doing my part.  I have mentioned Kepler once since my return about ten days ago, and haven't brought up Gallo (yet) or Rocco (yet).

Yeah, in this case the squeaky wheel is not getting any grease.

Rocco is already signed through either 2025 or 2026. If you want him gone, I have bad news for you.

And I'm not at all certain that Wallner is a better option than either Max or Gallo. Not that either have been great. I wouldn't mind looking to the trade market for a different upgrade if possible.

If you think they are going to DFA Gallo or Kepler and then trade for an OFer, I have bad news for you.  Making such a trade with two MLB ready OFers in AAA and a team that is FAR away from being a player away from contention would be grounds for termination.

The real problems in June have Been Buxton / Gallo / Castro, and Kirilloff.  The four of them have a wRC+ of 55-60.  Kepler's is 102 for June.  Taylor and Farmer are 78 & 79.  The only three significantly above average are Solano, Lewis, and Julien, in that order.

I'm not advocating for anyone being DFA'd AND then also adding someone else. I only meant that I don't see Wallner being an upgrade over either Kepler or Gallo. That's all.

I had hoped Larnach would take the next step at some point. We'll see.

I guess I did not understand what you meant by "I'm not at all certain that Wallner is a better option than either Max or Gallo. I wouldn't mind looking to the trade market for a different upgrade if possible."

I have no problem with them DFAing Gallo or Kepler but I would do so to give Larnach and Wallner playing time to determine if there is a need to fill those spots by going outside the organization in the off-season.  Give Larnach and Wallner 3 months of playing time this year and determine if they need to look at free agents in the off-season.

I do Hope Larnach can find luck with health at some point here. That’s most likely why a dfa move hasn’t happened yet

Larnach seems to handle velocity quite well.  Opposing pitchers all seem to feed him a steady diet of vertical breaking balls.  He will be good if he can learn to handle that sinker at the bottom of the zone.  I assume the pitching machines they have now can simulate that pitch.
