The Twins just saw Matt Wallner's line in STP and put Kepler on the IL.

Wouldn't that be nice?

At some point we may have to accept that this team is never going to be anything but mediocre. Like maybe tonight.

Dunno, maybe. Maybe not. The most likely outcome is probably mediocrity but with variables like Correa, Miranda, Kirilloff, Buxton, Lewis, Wallner, et al in play, the ceiling should be pretty high.

Unless Gallo homers which he’s not hitting for quite a while anyway come at the right time I don’t see him being that much of a positive offensively what with striking out most AB.  At least he can play good d infield and outfield I guess.

I wouldn't complain. I've been on the get rid of Max Kepler train for a long time now.

And I don’t mean ill will to Max, but I also agree that his usefulness to the team is pretty much nil.

He still has an OPS just over .800 and an OBP of .325.

This is who Gallo is. He gets to his numbers in a very aggravating way but he is productive.

I don't know why he won't play center but it pisses me off 100 days a season. His value changes drastically if he's subbing out MAT on the regular.

Kepler quote ? or ?

Maybe that says at least as much about relying on OPS as it does about our comments and frustrations.

Big problem with the game. He deciedes whether he plays CF?  Em no.  Play where you are penciled in or dont play.

So you're saying he needs to eat more. I bet they haven't tried that one yet, why not.

or Kirk Cousins flak jacket ?

Dick talked about them being the most healthy they’ve been at the beginning.  Perk now says he’s sure Dick didn’t jinx it.  But all the sudden Bux, Carlos and Kep are out of the game. This kind of thing happens time and time again. I shudder every time he opens his mouth about all kinds of great things happening.

I've tried to figure out the details on this but it isn't clear. It appears Kepler doesn't like playing center and the team doesn't see upside in forcing him into the position due to health considerations. This is conjecture, mind you, as I said I've tried to figure out why that keeps happening but no one seems to know.
