  1. This team is a mess and we're talking about deck chairs
  2. It would be one thing if it was just the bad performance from Mr.-currently-sitting-at-a-77 OPS+, but he has acted like a complete primadonna on top of it when what he should be doing is anything he can to save his precarious roster spot: 1) refuses to play center field when doing so would allow them to have Wallner up and contributing something to this putrid offense - check 2) refuses to go on rehab assignments when again, it would allow them to get a halfway decent hitter up for at least a week and a half - check 3) refused to get vaccinated leaving them shorthanded when they had to play in Canada during the covid years - check This is just the stuff that's become public, but I think it paints enough of a picture you can fill in the rest of the blanks.... he's a PITA on and off the field.
  3. Man I really hope they can get out of their own way with this. Just take one of the top 5 you aren't smarter than everybody else!
  4. Tigers in the playoffs would be a fun story. I'm rooting against the Twins at this point.
  5. Miranda and/or Martin are not going to get Burnes. Try Lewis/Lee for starters.
  6. If there is any poetry in the world, Cuzzi will be reborn as a futbol referee in South America. They believe in accountability there!
  7. Cut Pagan, Moran and Alcala to minors, Stewart, De Leon, Headrick in those roles for now, aim for big relief arms at the deadline, but keep the revolving door revolving until then. Finding someone better than Solano to take that role should be doable. 10000 rakes is great but need to know when to cut bait.
  8. "This was just the third time in Twins history that they have had back-to-back 10-run games. The last time was April 24th and 25th, 1996." This didn't sound right to me so I checked - they haven't had back to back wins by 10+ runs since 1996, but they have had back to back 10+ run games as recently as 2019, when they did it multiple times.
  9. You look at the pitching leader boards, they do have more than a few guys getting the job done. SOs? Pablo Lopez. ERA? Sonny. Wins? Joe Ryan. Refreshing for sure after all those years in the wilderness. Something a little more satisfying about a team that gets it done with pitching.
  10. Really like Sonny, you can tell he thinks about this stuff A LOT. I hope they figure out a way to keep him for a few more years.
  11. Have a shot tomorrow at first three game sweep since 1991! The big apple just fell off the tree and rolled into the east river!
  12. It's a story as old as time - guy brakes into the majors on the strength of his ability to crush a fastball, fizzles out because he can't figure out a major league breaking ball.
  13. This whole endeavor is pointless while Buxton and Correa are blackholes. So I guess watch em sink like a rock until that changes. Not even May and I'm in "I'll check in again in a week" mode with this team again.
  14. I am in the Chicago area. I noticed them mention he was from Joliet on the broadcast...and they mentioned the hands thing. Could be the new market inefficiency in pitching. Massive-handed Chicago boys!
  15. This lineup isn't the only thing striking out at an incredible rate. 16 first round picks between 2010-2020 and they completely whiffed on all but Buxton, Berrios, and Gordon(?). Jury still out on a few others (Kirilloff, Lewis, Larnach). That's a big problem.
  16. We may just be watching a prospect in the process of not panning out. I think they can work around it. Doesn't need to be a disaster unless they try and force a non-performing player onto the roster (cough cough... Kepler). He's a 1st basemen with a promising bat. Always a half dozen guys out there that can play passable 1b and hit enough to be worth a spot. It's painful to miss out on another first rounder, and they can ill afford to keep doing that, but it's a sunk cost. If he was an up the middle player or someone they were banking on fronting a rotation, this would be harder to swallow.
