  1. Two big relief arms and a solid bat they can use to pinch hit or be the regular DH if Buck ever goes back to CF would go a long way on this team. Very gettable ahead of the deadline. Correa will figure it out sooner than later. I have a good feeling one of the young guys (Julien, Kirilloff, Larnach, Wallner) is going to have become a big contributor by the end of the season. Second half schedule is WAY softer. I agree that they aren't far off. They have the talent in the rotation to sustain much of the success so far and any lineup with Correa, Buxton, and this year's version of Gallo in it cannot remain this bad.
  2. Miranda and/or Martin are not going to get Burnes. Try Lewis/Lee for starters.
  3. Is this team just bad? I thought it was a funk but maybe they are just bad. Felt like they had a chance to be strong offensively but nobody in the lineup at this point would scare me. Got a handful of guys that get a hold of one every 15 at bats but other than that....yikes.
  4. For anyone watching the Giants telecast, Jon Miller is a class act. All time great announcer.
  5. Cannot see this going well. They should have had someone other than Moran up. What's the odds they get out of this with even a one run lead....30%?
  6. If there is any poetry in the world, Cuzzi will be reborn as a futbol referee in South America. They believe in accountability there!
  7. Cut Pagan, Moran and Alcala to minors, Stewart, De Leon, Headrick in those roles for now, aim for big relief arms at the deadline, but keep the revolving door revolving until then. Finding someone better than Solano to take that role should be doable. 10000 rakes is great but need to know when to cut bait.
  8. "This was just the third time in Twins history that they have had back-to-back 10-run games. The last time was April 24th and 25th, 1996." This didn't sound right to me so I checked - they haven't had back to back wins by 10+ runs since 1996, but they have had back to back 10+ run games as recently as 2019, when they did it multiple times.
  9. I watched the Apple broadcast last week. Seemed to be somewhat of an emphasis on non-traditional stats and the camera work is interesting - exciting even! The announcers though... just grating. Dontrelle Willis and some other guy. Most of it sounded like the generic soundbites you'd hear in the background of MLB The Show or something. I'm guessing more of the same tonight. If I have it on probably going to put it on mute.
  10. He looks like that when everyone is batting, to be fair.
  11. You look at the pitching leader boards, they do have more than a few guys getting the job done. SOs? Pablo Lopez. ERA? Sonny. Wins? Joe Ryan. Refreshing for sure after all those years in the wilderness. Something a little more satisfying about a team that gets it done with pitching.
  12. Really like Sonny, you can tell he thinks about this stuff A LOT. I hope they figure out a way to keep him for a few more years.
  13. Have a shot tomorrow at first three game sweep since 1991! The big apple just fell off the tree and rolled into the east river!
  14. My hope is it would light a fire under one of their butts.
  15. I have no clue how you have watched the same games I have and came away with the conclusion that Larnach is playing well, but ok. The Homer tonight buys some time. He hasn't demonstrated an ability to hit major league offspeed pitching. That will be exploited until he shows he can do so. I'm not hating on the guy they really need a corner outfield bat. I don't care who is wearing the jersey...
  16. Destroying AAA to the tune of 1.057 ops
  17. I'd be happy cycling through those two until one of them runs with it. Larnach has been brutal since the first week. Crushing that mistake pitch probably buys him another week, but he needs to show some ability to hit the offspeed stuff or he's nearly an automatic out.
  18. He can't hit a breaking ball! And he's even starting to miss the few fastballs he gets. Not adding anything with the glove. Wallner should have his spot.
  19. I believe the Twins haven't swept those lousy bums the Yankees since Sept 6-8 of 1991. We all know how that season ended up. Order the rings now or am I getting ahead of myself?
  20. Not to mention the middle middle fastball he struck out on. Time to send him across the river. Wallner has a 1.057 ops at the moment....
  21. It's actually closer to 30MM if you count the rest of this year. 1MM buyout for '26. They aren't convincing anybody else to pay any portion of that. I could see say, the Royals refusing to eat that much sunk cost, but this don't make sense to me. 2023 33 New York Yankees $10,785,714 9.041 2024 34 New York Yankees $9,785,715 2025 35 New York Yankees $9,785,715
