i trust Correa to figure it out, alot more than either Buxton and to some extent Kepler and Gallo

Buxton is,.......I cant say it otherwise trouble for me.....will end it with your not a HR hitter.  Stop tryin to be one.

The way the bullpen was used tonight was perfection. I just wish they would do that more when leading and with Duran throwing the 2+ innings in the 7th and 8th. It shows they can do it, just not with the lead.

CLE put together an inning by making contact and not trying to reconstruct BOMBA.

Twins hit the ball all around Minute Maid and didn't hit a homer. Balls fell in.

I view those players very differently.

Correa will figure it out unless he's injured or old.

Buxton will figure it out unless he's injured.

Gallo is a volatile player but is still pretty good.

Kepler will never figure it out.

Glad you agree, basically what i said

Dunno, hitting 57 home runs over his last 846 plate appearances kinda feels like he's a home run hitter.

I get the feeling that that is a lot of Kirk Cousins game gone 4th quarter stat pad TD-yards passes kind of stat.  He wilts when it team wise matters.

The year he hit 28 HR he had 51 RBI.  How?

Other than the fact he has something like a +5 Win Probability Added over the past three years, which is outstanding.

Leading the hitters in win probability added this year, second last year. I find it hard to believe you've managed to avoid watching every game where he's hit a huge go ahead or tying HR late but I guess some people just have bad luck like that.

Fun to read these well after the game. Was score checking, but busy putting kids to bed, dogs to bed, pulling bird feeders for the night so bears don't destroy them. Then finally I can catch up with the details. What a win! I thought we were done when down 6 to 3. Then I saw we tied it back up bottom of the 8th, and I thought Holy mackerel we could pull this off! Got little man to bed just in time to see that Castro had walked it off! Love it, go Twins!

Not going to get into a contest over who watches what games when. Said "get the feeling" concerning Buxton.  My feeling is as what he is now a DH ONLY he is a negative.  Could be right.  Could be wrong.

He's had some big moments. So has Gallo Larnach Kiriloff Lewis Miranda Farmer Solano and a slew of others. Are you implying that he's been tearing it up and there's no need for him to do anything different. Compare his numbers. April and May. I'd just like to see more consistency. Too many short highs and long lows. Does his WPA include his defensive metrics. Because he's not in CF anymore.

Preach.

Take this any way you want to, but our "best" player took a pitch to the ribs and had to leave the game, and will probably miss at least a game, if not the rest of the series, and our pitchers did nothing. I saw the pitch, and it looked like a straight up I'm gonna hit you dude. No warning to the pitchers or the benches given. Granted, none of Cleveland's big hitter's came up in the 5th, but Kwan or Ramirez needed to be brushed back in the 6th. Call BS if you want, but it looked like a blatant HBP and needed a response.

I'm only replying to the implication that he can't hit in high pressure spots.  He's been better than most in those spots over the last few years.

He's also a bit more streaky than most, and he's definitely in a cold streak right now. He's better at drawing walks than he used to be though so the cold streaks are a little less extreme.

Every baseball player goes through a lot of failures. I've really enjoyed watching him over the last few years. There's been some bad streaks but he's always come out of it and there's been more good than bad.

Well I've found him to be a very fun player to watch and that's still true even as a DH only, the last few weeks notwithstanding. I do hope he is able to get back into centerfield at some point.

You're wrong. he has a +1.0 WPA this season.

No, he hasn't been great as a DH. But he's been valuable when it counts.

If true and I have no reason to believe not then tomorrow...hit Rameriz in ribs first pitch out of gate.  Twin problem # infinity is they get muscled in crap like this.  Teams expect them to MN nice it.

Don't know if it is or not. I really didn't even think about it. Happened so quickly. I mean if it was intentional, Why?

Listen, I'm really tired of people being intentionally ignorant of metrics. You can look it up, the same as me.

WPA is purely an offensive metric.

Intentionally ignorant. OK. So I do it just to upset you. Sorry. I could care less about metrics. And that's a great response from a moderator

I have to call a no way on that. It was not at all intentional. Look at the video and watch the pitcher’s reaction. That is not the reaction of someone who wanted to hit anyone.
