Interesting to me that he is stacking up the lefties in the middle of the lineup, especially with Bummer lurking in the pen.

I know Miranda bats right, but I don't think the lefties have been so close together before in the lineup.

True, but given Chicago's overall woes pitching wise this year, probably isn't too much of a stretch this game.

Not too many gripes with this lineup.  Maybe flip flop Kepler and Gallo, but that's minor.

Until Chief gets here. I'm sure he will find a nit or two to pick. 😉

Sorry to be a doomer but I'm predicting that Kopech is gonna surprise some folks today

I was going to say that Kopech has just been terrible to start the year, and that probably means he's due. He can right his ship against someone else this time around, or, better yet, go back to fake reality TV.

Until the writer’s strike is settled, this may be all there is.

He had been doing this on purpose with the 3 batter minimum.  They did it several times early before the injuries started and was able to get plus matchups with Solano and Farmer off the bench after the pitching change.  They slot perfectly for RH hitting and positional flexibility.

No telling what situation will come today with both Kepler and Gallo hitting well but that area will be the pitch hit target late in the game.  Its a good situation if you have two good RH hitters on the bench, which we don't today.

I was thinking maybe he did it also bc he really likes the Miranda vs Bummer match up. Like he was daring them to bring him in in a critical situation.

I wasn't being critical, just hadn't noticed before.

I had wondered the same thing opening day and that's my best theory.  I liked it a lot better with both Farmer and Solano available.

Nobody sitting out for no reason.

Who is in the lineup matters way more than where in the lineup.

No nits to pick.

I speak only for myself.  Others, particularly @USAFChief, may have other opinions!
