where the heck was Buxton running - can't believe the injuries are repeating again this year.

Exhibit #103925. I don't understand such a gifted player being so weird when running the bases.

One those unwritten ones that get you thrown at if you break it

Exactly!

Is it league wide or are the Twins the most tender bodied players ever.

I mean, one of the White Sox relief pitchers pulled a groin muscle running in from the bullpen, so I don't think it's just the Twins.

For a guy with the injury history that Buck has, and for the kid gloves the organization has treated him with the last couple years, that was incredibly care-free base running.

Yeah Buxton was way out of the baseline.

For a game we’re winning, this is one of the worst games I’ve ever seen.

You can say that again.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but what the heck was Buxton doing? Hope he's ok, but dude....

It looked like he was trying to avoid the second baseman as he was charging the ball.  Just awkward timing.

I don't think you're gonna find that opinion unpopular

Exactly this. And it’s an example of not all injuries being ‘accidents’. Most guys make the ‘play’ Buxton made there a million times without incident. Also why, it’s folly to think DH is going to protect him over meaningful time period.

We've seen this before, where a player seems okay and walks off under his own power.  Then we fiddle around with him for a few days off, then the IL, and before you know it the guy is missing from the lineup for quite some time.

Its like he was aiming at the guy the way he veered towards the infield then hit him

WTF is going on out there today? Are we cursed? Is somebody sticking pins in a voodoo doll with a Twins uni on?

Then he should try harder.

The fielder's going in for the ball, the runner's route should be away from that.

Looked to me like he was worried about the umpire and never saw the 2nd baseman.

He's looking at the ball the whole time and didn't realize he was heading towards a collision.  Literally NOT heads-up baseball.  With his injury history he has to be going the opposite direction of the infielder.
