amazing that for over a hundred years nobody threw a "sweeper." Now everybody does. Go figure.

I remember the "screwball".  Good times.

The extra inning 2nd base runner play is complete baloney.  You have to earn just about everything in a baseball game or sporting event.  Baseball takes that away by putting a runner base, who didn't earn the way on, just to speed up the game.  Ridiculous.

Really dislike that rule even in factory.

Making the ChiSox play defense is always a good play call.

It’s how you win games against them, although didn’t quite work last night

just a guess, he goes down ???

Gallo went to the IL which makes room for Julien. Now, it will be interesting to see what happens when players start coming back. Gonna depend on who’s performing

So they win in spite of analytics. I guess anything can be overcome if your opponent can't make fundamental  plays.

You pull your dominating starter, the bullpen gives up the lead, and you win because the Sox can't make a throw to first, and you think doubting that is a stretch? Hmm. . .

Lopez wasn't coming out for the ninth he was already almost at 100 pitches after 2 outs in the 8th in his 3rd start. Baldelli took the matchup for the last out in the 8th with a guy who has repeatedly come through in that situation. I'm sure you weren't complaining when Duran came in. All good until your unhittable reliever gets dinged.

They won because Lopez bounced back, Duran bounced back, Thielbar and Jax came through and MAT showed the boys how to bunt.

Julien and Wallner are both up to play. They are top prospects. When Kepler returns, somebody will have to be sent down, but I would expect it to be Wallner first, unless he does some prodigious hitting. Wallner and Kepler can't play right field at the same time, and currently Buck is a DH.

If you are really going to nitpick Robert squaring up one on Duran, it's going to be a long season.  It's who you want in that situation, Robert just powered a curveball that was left up a little bit over the plate.

Win is a Win.

I like that Pablo didn't want to go out of the game. I like Rocco's decision and anybody that was saying that they should have had Lopez finish the eighth and come out for the ninth probably isn't being honest with themself.

No one is saying it's a repeatable recipe for success. But Duran gave up the tying run the following inning after relieving Lopez. But F-them facts, eh?

Pulling Lopez had no effect on Duran giving up the HR.

And why does a team have left handed relievers if not to face a guy when the starter threw 30 pitches in the first inning and is at 100 in the 8th inning? Benintendi is a career .258 hitter with a 373 slugging against lefties, using Theilbar there was the totally the correct call.

Benditenti had good at bats all night plus it gave the home fans a chance at a nice welcoming ovation for his first home start.  Right baseball move, right leadership move.

I have no doubt the analytics  support the decisions. Which is why the decisions  are made.  Can't be criticized.  In spite of those decisions, not because  of them, they won.

Do you really think Lopez was going out there to start the 9th inning?

The organization now has pitchers who are doing their job. That’s the shift. And Gray’s message was clearly saying the pitchers had to do their jobs and not being disgruntled with management as has been portrayed by posters wanting it to be that way

And dispelling the myth of 3rd time through the order.

There hasn’t been a shift, the pitchers are just pitching better and using less pitches. Lopez is not in the same stratosphere of Bundy/Archer/Smeltzer.

If Bundy/ArcherSmeltzer are in the stratosphere, Is Lopez in the metosphere?
